'Disproportional coverage' tag edit

For people confused about why there is a 'bias towards England and Wales' tag on the list of censuses, I have copied the reason for adding this tag (tagged by the unregistered user 94.14.254.56, who didn't provide a reason for the tagging on this talk page, but did in the edit summary for his edit) from the 'view history' section to here. Here's what he/she said: ''This section only refers to the National Archives which, ironically regarding the census, isn't national but deals only with England and Wales''. I think the tag is unnecessary, unless there is any information to indicate that the censuses were held on different dates in Scotland and/or Ireland. AlanD1956 (talk) 11:34, 31 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

I think you'll find the publication dates for the all the census material after 1911 are out by 100 years ? User:persisharding — Preceding unsigned comment added by Persisharding (talkcontribs) 10:01, 28 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

No: see the preceding sentence "Because the 100-year closure rule was established after the 1911 census, information in later censuses will not be released until the dates stated." Perhaps this would be clearer if we changed 'publication date' to 'scheduled publication date'. AlanD1956 (talk) 11:32, 31 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Overall counts edit

Either this article or Census in the United Kingdom should include a table of the overall count numbers for each of the censuses, somewhat like this (numbers made up):

Year England Wales Scotland
1801 7mil 1mil 1.5mil
...
2011 50mil 5mil 5mil

Unpublished censuses? edit

There reads: Because the 100-year closure rule was established after the 1911 census, information in later censuses will not be released until the dates stated.
So we will not know UK's or its cities 2011 populations until 2112? Or what does that mean? 212.50.203.198 (talk) 16:49, 19 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
