Incomplete edit

  • List of Ukrainian Jews by User:Dahn. Obviously, incomplete. I am not sure if there is a value in the list abakharev 02:07, 24 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
I agree with Alex. The list is incomplete. But the articles/links for most of these Jewish people are excessive and irrelevant for an EN encyclopedia. Is there any Wiki-bio-guide where we could move all these pages saving the info? Ukrained 10:37, 24 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

The nice thing about lists in Wikipedia is that they stay out of one's way. Someone will find value in it, so there's no point in deleting the article. Michael Z. 2006-01-24 15:51 Z
No humor at all. I'm for having a list, but not all people in it should have a separate article. Is that possible, or am I getting lists rules wrong? Ukrained 19:59, 24 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
Sounds okay to me, but there's a tendency to make all list items red links, to encourage contributions, and just in case an unlikely article is started anyway—it will become a blue link. Michael Z. 2006-01-24 20:22 Z

Stanislav Manets? Who is this guy? edit

how are we exactly going to make an article for Stanislav Manets? There's nothing about him anywhere except that site.

User:Newport has trouble understanding he/she does not "own" (WP:OWN) all Jewish articles. When a perfectly valid change is made (like the one concerning the removal of Stanislav Manets, a completely unknown model) it should be taken seriously, especially when there is a section in TALK devoted to it. LaGrange 18:48, 3 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
By the same token, LaGrange doesn't own this article either. A name has been added, with a valid source saying that he is a Ukrainian Jew hence should be on this list. Why then does LaGrange want him deleted? --20.138.246.89 12:00, 4 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

For the third of fourth time, he is a non-notable. See for yourself: [1]. There are two sources online with my name under them for a mathematical publication I made. Does that mean I get to add myself to List of mathematicians? Give me a break. LaGrange 16:24, 4 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Proposed page move edit

Tatsmayer (talk · contribs) has (more than once) redirected or moved this page with no discussion to obtain consensus. I am opening this section to discuss the topic. Interested users are invited to give their input. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:36, 30 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

For the record Tatsmayer moved the page to List of Jews from Ukrainian lands. Which I am against. There are the articles List of Mexican Jews, List of Hungarian Jews, List of Polish Jews, List of Romanian Jews etcetera. So why should a list about Jews born in (present day) Ukraine should have a different name? And what the hell are "Ukrainian lands", does that include Crimea (in the state Ukraine) and/or Belgorod (a lot of ethnic Ukrainians there)? A remove to List of Jews born in the territory of present day Ukraine would make more sense. — Mariah-Yulia • Talk to me! 01:20, 31 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
Oppose move Mariah makes a good case for keeping. Despite Tatsmayer's claim that there's no such thing as a "Ukrainian Jew," this article is massively sourced. His title to me sounds POV and inaccurate. Dlohcierekim 01:42, 31 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
