I don't know if this is worth discussiong, but Pelaw is in no way a "converted" station, as it was built from scratch in 1985. If Tyne Dock, Fawdon, Northumberland Park, Regent Centre, and Central Station are purpose-built, despite being on the site of another station, then logically Pelaw is too. St Peter's edit

No. It is located a few hundred yards south of Monkwearmouth station, which still exists as the Monkwearmouth Station Museum. If you look at the full size versions of Image:Monkwearmouth Station Musuem from Metro 02.jpg you can see things like the canopy and platform number sign of St Peter's station. I've had a measure of how close they are now. The bridge at Monkwearmouth is 122 metres from the centre of the main canopy at St Peters. It is 34 metres from the southern end of the eastern Monkwearmouth platform to the northern end of the eastern platform at St Peters. In contrast the closest two operational stations I can think of - Canary Wharf DLR station and Heron Quays DLR station are 107 metres apart at their closest points (West India Quay DLR station is about 108 metres from Canary Wharf at the closest points, but it was being rebuilt when the air photo I have access too was taken so its difficult to be accurate)!Thryduulf 14:46, 24 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

High Lane Row edit

Yes, the location was listed incorrectly. However, it's not dual track, as one of the two tracks is used for freight only and has nothing to do with Metro. Not only would the trak need to be dualled at the High Lane Row site, but there would be issues with scheduling if the track between stations remained single. I suspect this might be given the go-ahead once they get their new rolling stock in a few years' time and it becomes more of an issue. ProhibitOnions (T) 15:02, 1 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Jesmond renamed edit
