Air dates unsourced
Is there any source that can account for the episode airings? - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 02:20, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
I have noticed that people are adding in airdates, that is fine as long as they are sourced per WP:V. I have been looking for sources but am unsure about what would qualify as a reliable source here - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 22:09, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
I added airdates yesterday from tv.com but somebody has deleted the airdates. What is the use of having an episode guide if you don't have the airdates? Besides, if you need sources, all you need to do is go to tv.com. Other episode guides don't need citations. So stop freaking out peoples. -Dpm12 - December 7, 2010 at 8:15 AM PST.
- I went ahead and asked about tv.com through village pump and found out that some sections are user-editable which are not reliable. Are the episodes written up by staff members or by the users is the question? - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 18:54, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
- This is really getting on my nerves. Let's just use TV.com for the air date sources. For the most part, they're right. imDb and TV.com have the same airdates, so obviously there's something there. You could go to an episoide guide that people make and say a new episode of Pawn Stars aired a certain day because they were there when it aired, but that could be considered unreliable. Geez. I mean, if we don't use TV.com for the sources, then what are we going to use?-Dpm12 - 11/27/12 7:53 AM (PST)
- I will note I did look at the tvguide.com the problem is that they have an episode airing in 2009 that is in the first season on the DVDs which does not make one bit of sense. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 06:03, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
- I found epguides.com and I am going to put their airdate sources on here. It's not an editable site, so we can use it. -Dpm12.
Episode summaries (again)
- Looks like either http://wn.com/powergirlsepisodes is a copyvio or our page is (or both).
- Summaries should be summaries not listing "hooks".
What a mess
Gee, it looks this is a mess all the airdates are unsorced, and no actual airdates in it. JJ98 (Talk) 00:27, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I can give you a reliable source for six of them, but that would still leave the other 72-ish episodes unsourced. *shrug* Paper Luigi Talk • Contributions 01:00, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
- This problem is not new (see above) and has been ongoing, with random IP's adding the unsourced original aitdates anywhere from 2001 to 2010. The problem is that unless you have a good source like the one you found, all the other sources say 3 to 4 diffrent things. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 01:10, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
- I agree. The main problem is that main article is lacking citations (which I downgraded to C-Class for WikiProjects including WP:TV and WP:ANIMATION), just like Dexter's Laboratory, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Cow and Chicken which has the same sorceing problems. I don't know, there's a tons of Cartoon Network related articles that are entirely unsorced, and no one hasn't put up or fix those issues lately. JJ98 (Talk) 20:25, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
- Sourcing has been the main problem in these articles as far back as I can remember. Fortunately, I've found and added quite a few reliable sources to the PPG article in just the last week or so, thanks mostly in part to the WayBack Machine and Google's News Archives. To me, the easiest thing to do would be to find an old TV guide or newspaper listing online with CN's schedule in it, but my searches so far have turned up nothing useful. Paper Luigi Talk • Contributions 20:39, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
- Well I will look too, in the meantime though I have maintained the list to exclude the airdates as it does not add much to the article if they are unsourced. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 20:52, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
I agree, I think that's a good thing to find a better source per WP:RS, so long as IMDb, TV.com and user and blog sites are not reliable source. BTW, this is really hard and it is a pain in the ass here on Wikipedia. :-( JJ98 (Talk / Contributions) 08:54, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
Episode Order
Hi Everyone,
I noticed that these episodes are ordered on the basis of their production codes. Is this based on their order in the DVD sets or some other source? I ask because IMDB has a different ordering for them: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0175058/episodes. This seems to be based on original air dates and it produces some remarkable differences, for example See Me, Feel Me, Gnomey listed here as Season 5, Episode 7 is listed on the IMDB ranking as Season 6, Episode 11. Should the production order be used or the original air dates and does Wikipedia have a policy about this? I would argue that it is better to use original air dates since that is the order most people would be familiar with. There are certain exceptions like Firefly and, arguably, Futurama but I think as a general rule original air date is a better order. Are there any thoughts? 150.203.111.211 (talk) 07:58, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- IMDB is user edited and therefore NOT a reliable website, all sources here on wikipedia must be reliable (You can read about it here: WP:V ). The airdates have been a problem in the past as alot of people were adding their own airdates some as late as 2010 so the airdates were removed. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 14:21, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- OK, thanks Knowledgekid87. I thought it might come under WP:V. 150.203.111.211 (talk) 00:37, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
Superfriends/Super Friends
Hi again,
I noticed something a while back. Episode 46 (Season 4, Episode 7) is listed as Super Friends but when you play the episode the title is pretty clearly Superfriends, or to be more specific SUPERFRIENDS. Should the title be changed to Superfriends? 150.203.111.211 (talk) 00:40, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
Airdates - One more time!
After much digging and time spent comparing dates, I think I'm able to add airdates to this list again! ...Well, for the first season, at least. But hey, it's a start! Here's what I've got so far:
- "Mommy Fearest / Monkey See, Doggie Do" - Nov. 18, 1998 (iTunes, CNDoC, BCDB, EPG) (series premiere)
- "Insect Inside / Powerpuff Bluff" - Nov. 25, 1998 (iTunes, BCDB, EPG)
- "Geshundfight / Octi Evil" - Dec. 2, 1998 (iTunes, CNDoC, BCDB, EPG)
- "Buttercrush / Fuzzy Logic" - Dec. 9, 1998 (iTunes, CNDoC, BCDB, EPG)
- "Boogie Frights / Abracadaver" - Dec. 16, 1998 (iTunes BCDB, EPG)
- "Telephonies / Tough Love" - Dec. 23, 1998 (iTunes, BCDB, EPG)
- "Major Competition / Mr. Mojo's Rising" - Jan. 6, 1999 (iTunes, BCDB, EPG)
- "Paste Makes Waste / Ice Sore" - Jan. 13, 1999 (iTunes, BCDB, EPG)
- "Bubblevicious / The Bare Facts" - Jan. 20, 1999 (iTunes, BCDB, EPG)
- "Cat Man Do / Impeach Fuzz" - Jan. 27, 1999 (iTunes, BCDB, EPG)
- "Just Another Manic Mojo / Mime for a Change" - Feb. 3, 1999 (iTunes, BCDB, EPG)
- "The Rowdyruff Boys" - Feb. 3, 1999 (CNDoC) (see above episode for conflict), or April 7, 1999 (iTunes, BCDB, EPG)
- "Uh Oh Dynamo" - May 26, 1999 (iTunes), or May 27, 1999 (BCDB, EPG) (think it's May 26 because it's a Wednesday like every other S1 airdate)
- Other
- "Moral Decay / Meet the Beat-Alls" - Feb. 9, 2001 (GNews, 37th anniversary of The Beatles on Ed Sullivan)
- Meat Fuzzy Lumkins - Feb. 20, 1995 (EPG), or March 12, 1995 (BCDB) (leaning toward the second date here)
- Crime 101 - Jan. 26, 1996 (EPG), or Jan. 28, 1996 (BCDB)
- Links 'n stuff
- CN's DoC archive
- Season 1 on iTunes
- Meet the Beat-Alls (non-free)
- Meet the Beat-Alls (free)
- Epguides
- Old revision of the page (for comparison's sake)
EPguides isn't so much considered a RS. I'm not sure how BCDB stands, and the DoC is very limited (6 episodes, 2 of which have incorrect airdates). However, List of Ed, Edd n Eddy episodes, a Featured Article, uses iTunes as a source, and I figure if they can do it, so can we (we'd only need to worry about "Uh Oh Dynamo"). If there are few or no conflicts with the remaining episodes, we could use it as a general source like the EEnE article and go from there. What do you all think? Paper Luigi T • C 22:23, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
- Very impressive I think that it should be added as it is a wonderful start, however my worry are IP's changing the airdates up for debate and those that arent because they see wrong airdates on sources like the tv guide or imdb. When you do add them just moniter the status carefully. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 22:34, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
- Ahem. https://itunes.apple.com/us/tv-season/the-powerpuff-girls-season-2/id352828726 must be the source for the dates they go against. - BookDen (talk) 20:54, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
- If it is from that source then feel free to source it. The IP though provided no edit summary nor did they include the source at the top of the page, the sourcing of the airdates has been talked over alot here and countless times the dates added are wrong ones. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 02:09, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
- So now we have an empty column for season 2? Oh, and as a reminder, when adding air dates be sure to use the {{start date|YYYY|MM|DD}} format. Paper Luigi T • C 02:31, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
I have run into a problem, at the end of season 3 and at the start of season 4 the airdates from the iTunes source get messed up, one airdate will be from 2002 while the next episode airdate has it say 2005 both in season 4 (Season 6 ended in 2005). I have included hidden comments at the end of season 3 and for now feel that seasons 4 - 6 should be left blank in terms of airdates unless another source can be found or iTunes fixes the problem. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 05:05, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
- If/when the other air dates are found, they should include at least one premiere from June 2002, as mentioned by this old TV schedule page. Paper Luigi T • C 10:30, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
- Premiere dates should also be included from November 2003 as seen here. If memory serves correctly, that was the month when "The Boys Are Back in Town" aired. Paper Luigi T • C 00:44, 23 January 2013 (UTC)
- Im not comfortable using youtube as a source when it is not official as it gives credit to the person who uploaded the video. The video does provide a date however but without knowing which dates the link is nothing but a nice memory (For me anyways ^-^). I tried looking through the wayback machine and found the old CN schedule you did, I think I will just look into that more. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 01:00, 23 January 2013 (UTC)
Using Youtube as a source
I noticed that User:Luigi1090 has made changes using youtube as a source, per WP:NOYT it says "YouTube and other video-sharing sites are generally not considered reliable sources because anyone can create or manipulate a video clip and upload without editorial oversight, just as with a self-published website. However, official channels of notable organisations, such as Monty Python's channel, may be acceptable as primary sources if their authenticity can be confirmed, or as a secondary source if they can be trace to a reliable publisher. Videos may also be used as a convenience link for material originally published elsewhere. In all cases, care should be undertaken to ensure that the video is genuinely authorised by the copyright holder. Be careful not to link to material that is a copyright violation. In general, unless the video is not clearly marked as "official" with a name strongly identified with the notable publisher or source, best practice is to treat it as a copyright violation and not use it." Looking at the youtube sources the user used an example being [1] is clarly not an official youtube page. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 23:25, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
- Although not uploaded from an official channel, the videos would be classified as "convenience link[s] for material originally published elsewhere." The videos do appear to be copyvios, however, and therefore not suitable for use as a citation in the episode list. The information itself is correct and should not be removed. Paper Luigi T • C 23:40, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
See Me, Feel Me, Gnomey
I honestly think it should be noted that the episode "See Me, Feel Me, Gnomey" was never broadcast in the United States. It had previously been noted, though it was deleted, even though it had a source. Off topic, this page is really a huge mess at the moment - I would honestly recommend removing the image of the creator of this show on this page, as it really isn't too notable, at least to me, and if such trouble is going on with the original airdates, shouldn't they just be removed altogether? If we do not know exactly when they were originally broadcast, I don't really see why it's on here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.53.83.234 (talk) 02:29, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
- The source[1] in question talks about Jack Black playing a part in the episode, No place does it mention the following "This episode has been aired in UK in 2003, but still has not been aired in the USA, due to a Communism vs. Capitalism overtone, and because of flashing lights that could be potentially irritating to children's eyes" So as the reference does not mention it, it counts as WP:OR. As for the image of the creator I had suggested an image of the DVD box set but as User:Paper Luigi pointed out featured articles on wikipedia such as: List of The Simpsons episodes and List of Family Guy episodes both use the creator as a picture. For the airdates, please read the section above as reliable sources were found for some of the seasons to include the airdates. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 04:21, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
Okay, that makes sense. If I find a source that's reasonable, it can restored, correct? Also, the only reason I brought up airdates was the fact that at the point I was editing, the airdates are few and far between, and many were not present at all or simply said N/A, which means it's merely in the construction progress, I assume, which is totally reasonable. As for the image, I brought it up because it seemed a bit messy, and seemed unnecessary, (at least in my opinion) as The Simpsons and Family Guy are much more popular, so it would probably be more helpful on those pages, as they are likely visited more and there is probably more activity on those pages, but I see your points. --173.53.83.234 (talk) 01:24, 1 February 2013 (UTC)
- Yes if you can find a reliable source it can be restored, speaking of sources the one you used, IMDB (Internet Movie Data base0 is not reliable as it is user edited, in other words anybody can edit the info on that website about the movies so there is no way of telling if it is the truth or not. For the airdates: I placed the N/A s there as the source the airdates is from is reliable but has some of the episodes wrong, for example #36 "Helter Shelter / Power Lunch" itunes has the airdate set as: October 12, 2001, using this airdate would place the epidode in season 4 not 3 like it shows on itunes, HOWEVER in the complete series DVD collection disc by disc (Released in 2009) and on I-tunes the order of the episodes are both the same meaning the airdate of October 12, 2001 is incorrect so it cant be used. As for the image it isnt hurting anything, it helps the page more than it hurts however as I said please feel free to upload an image of one of the DVD's or such if you think it fits better. To upload an image of the DVD's you have to make the image low resolution and go through a process over at wikipedia commons. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 02:02, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

Airdates
It seems to me this has been a subject of conversation quite a bit but I have noticed on several various reliable sources that the airdates are confungled confusing and completely out of order. I am starting to begin to believe this page was taken and changed to meet what the boxset put them in the order of per season. It seems to me that all the episodes that aired out of order likely aired on the days sourced but not in the season they are attached to on the page. There are several pages that do this and yet everyone wants to fight about airdates. Here's the rub. Get over it. They aired out of order from the boxset big whoop if other pages do it so should this one. Why make it a big deal and remove and have several conversations about it? Just let it go, breathe be happy you can source the airdates leave them be and let go. If other pages can do it why can't the PPG episode page? 65.189.16.119 (talk) 17:53, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
- How does this explain the first three seasons being right and the last three being wrong then? I have the PPG 10th ANV boxset as well and yes the episode order here does match it but it could be the source's reporting in error as well. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 18:56, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
- I have found a new reliable source which I will use MSN, the dates are different and are in order. Not user edited. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 19:18, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
I agree MSN is reliable. 65.189.16.119 (talk) 15:48, 11 May 2013 (UTC)
Episodes still at issue
Well since I found a new reliable source MSN I figured out that it would fix up the status of the end of season three I was of course wrong. The episodes at issue are:
- Helter Shelter / Power Lunch
- Possible Airdate 1: November 18, 2000[2] (As Helter Shelter/The Headsucker's Moxy)
- Possible Airdate 2: October 12, 2001[3]
- The Headsucker's Moxy / Equal Fights
- Possible Airdate 1: November 18, 2000[4] (As Helter Shelter/The Headsucker's Moxy)
- Possible Airdate 2: February 10, 2001[5]
- Possible Airdate 3: March 09, 2001 [6], [7]
Without the correct airdates I can not add more info. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 21:17, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
- I would go with airdate 2 for the first one and airdate 3 for the second one because the other dates didn't fall on Fridays. Paper Luigi T • C 21:33, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
- That would be status quo, hmmm it does make sense those being on Fridays but do you think Helter Shelter / Power Lunch should go in season 4 then? If we are doing this by airdate (Which makes sense as well) it would fall in that season. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 21:41, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
- No, that episode should remain in season 3, and I'll tell you why. "Helter Shelter" and "Power Lunch" were released on the VHS tapes Boogie Frights and Buttercrush and the DVD The Mane Event all on April 3, 2001. They didn't air on television until October because they were meant to be DVD exclusives. Here's a forum post with more information [8]. Paper Luigi T • C 23:58, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
- Okay I will put the October date in with a sidenote attached. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 00:04, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
- So are all the airdate issues taken care of now? On a related note, I think the pilot airdates can be added too. From what I can gather, the correct dates are Feb. 20, 1995, and Jan. 28, 1996. Paper Luigi T • C 00:52, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

Regarding season 4, I don't think MSN is the best choice for a source, but iTunes' dates aren't all correct either. Cases in point, "Nano of the North" and "Him Diddle Riddle". I dug into the ToonZone message boards and found this thread that mentions the episodes airing on June 21 (HDR) and June 22 (NotN) of 2002. iTunes only has the HDR date correct, and MSN lists both episodes as airing in 2001 (a year before the movie, so it would be inconsistent with the episodes' newer animation style). While I'm not advocating using ToonZone as a source within the article, we can use it to get a more clear picture of the airdates of certain episodes and maintain factual accuracy in this list. I haven't looked into the dates of other s4 eps, but it's safe to say we need a better source for the dates. Paper Luigi T • C 18:56, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
PPG Movie

- This has been done before, I think editors get confused by the direct to TV movie being there, as it was aired on TV first it counts as more of a special but is labeled as a movie. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 00:52, 16 September 2013 (UTC)
Why it is not a good idea to put the Television Movie and Specials together
As I have explained numerous times placing the two together makes it hard for the reader to tell what is a movie and what is a special. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 01:04, 16 September 2013 (UTC)
Another piece of the air date puzzle
"A total of forty all-new Cartoon Cartoon episodes will hit the airwaves this summer, including eight new installments of The Powerpuff Girls, starting on June 21 at 8 p.m. (ET, PT). These new episodes have Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup tangling with villains Him and Mojo Jojo, sexist superheroes, and a corrupt Hollywood producer. The premieres arrive in time for the debut of The Powerpuff Girls Movie, which opens July 3 in theaters nationwide." Article: "Cartoon Network Kicks Off All-New 'Summer Season' on June 7". Craig McCracken's Top 10 Episodes
These are Craig McCracken's top ten favorite episodes of The Powerpuff Girls.
- "Bubblevicious"
- "Beat Your Greens"
- "The Rowdyruff Boys"
- "The Powerpuff Girls' Best Rainy Day Adventure Ever"
- "Boogie Frights"
- "Uh Oh Dynamo"
- "Twisted Sister"
- "Meet the Beat-Alls"
- "Monkey See, Doggy Do"
- "Mime For a Change" --StewieBaby05 (talk) 16:30, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- If you have a source for this then yeah include it, this information would benefit the article. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 16:34, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- This is all irrelevant trivia, and not fit for a Wikipedia article. It's not of any encyclopedic value, anyway. Classicalfan626 (talk) 13:29, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- I don't see that has being true, if it were to be included then it would be a mention, something like "Craig McCracken chose ten of his favorite episodes in an interview" or the such. Real world information can be helpful to balance out all of the in-universe detail. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 15:36, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- Well then, let's mention it in the main article for the show, or in Craig McCracken's article. Those two places I find more appropriate. Classicalfan626 (talk) 17:31, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- Sounds good enough, I have yet to see a source though provided. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 17:33, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
Seasons should have their own separate articles
I've been thinking that all six seasons of The Powerpuff Girls should have their own individual articles. I'm working on a separate article for Season 1. Would anybody like to collaborate with me on this project? — Preceding unsigned comment added by MatthewRC (talk • contribs) 12:07, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
- I don't think it is the best idea as the seasons aren't that long. I feel it is better if text goes above each season on the article we have now here. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 14:31, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
- MatthewRC: Well, there were 24 segments in 13 episodes, with each episode having two segments (except for "The Rowdyruff Boys" and "Uh Oh Dynamo" which are half an hour). So, I think it would be better in my opinion. Plus, I just got started on the first season's article's construction.
- I am sorry that the article was deleted but going forward if you do decide to make an article on the separate articles you are going to have to show how they are independently notable. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 01:53, 2 November 2015 (UTC)
Clean tables
The new version of the tables, which I have done recently, it is better than the last. The cause of this change are the spaces of data, which are not bulky and large because of the episode titles (in bold) before the names. Luigi1090 (talk) 09:55, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
- Please do not revert again without a decent discussion. I disagree with your changes as I have not seen any FL class articles that use that confusing format. See for example: 30 Rock (season 1), List of Avatar: The Last Airbender episodes, and List of Twin Peaks episodes. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 12:54, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
Plot summaries
Any idea where the plot summaries are from? They're written like teaser promos, and that's often an indicator that they were copied (possibly improperly) from another source. Besides that, they need pretty significant copy editing/rewriting (I don't have the episodes handy or the time to verify any of it). --Fru1tbat (talk) 19:40, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
- Over time various IPs have added things I do own the complete series though so I will do a fix soon. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 20:51, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
Episode inconsistencies.
Assuming this is the order from DVDs Season 1 to 6, the only inconsistency is the episodes "I see a funny cartoon in your future/Octi-gone" is at the end of Season 6 as it's aired, but on the DVD Season 5, it's struck between two episodes at the beginning "Monstra-city/Shut the pup up" and "Toast of the town/Divide and conquer". I don't know what to believe but there's got to be an exception to the rule. I mean I am an Australian and it's hard to remember when it was aired at the time.
If all else fails, perhaps a note would suffice for people who likes to compare notes. I understand it didn't air on the US but it feels similar to the issues with Seinfeld "The Stranded" in which people presume that George either has or hasn't have a job. I won't argue with the Wikipedia policies "since I don't understand wiki-talk" but it just needs to be more flexible. That's all.
