Riffers edit

It seems to me that it would make more sense to list all the riffers for each Rifftrax, not just the "Guest Riffers" (which seems to equal "The Riffers other than Mike Nelson"), since Mike isn't actually present on all the Rifftrax and right now the list is totally unclear on whether he participated or not in any given Rifftrax. I don't know if I'd have the time to go through the list and make the change myself (and I certainly don't object if anyone else wants to), but is there any disagreement with the suggestion? iRiffs edit

Dozens are added to iRiffs each month, it's too much a pain in the butt to even try and list them. Besides, it's like listing fan fiction. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.234.83.36 (talk) 16:53, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. Removed. Mike R (talk) 19:54, 11 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Please do not remove sections unless there is a consensus. I disagree that these are on the level of fan fiction. They are being sold by RiffTrax, and are often produced by notable individuals (I.E., Blame Society, That Guy With The Glasses). This is something different. I made an attempt to shorten the list based upon high sales, overall popularity, relevance of films, or notability of the riffers involved. (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 15:03, 25 April 2009 (UTC))Reply

DVD release dates edit

What source is being used for these? I am convinced they are not all correct. Simple example, Shorts-Tacular Shorts-Stravaganza and Wide World of Shorts are listed as March 2, 2010. However, simply looking back in my email for old promotional messages, I've got an email from RiffTrax asking me to buy them from September 9, 2009. Now, it's possible there was some last-minute six-month delay, but it seems pretty unlikely.

There's also the matter of the ID numbers assigned to movies. Since sometimes they were released on the same day, I've taken to listing them by the Legend Films code given on the spine. For instance, Best of Shorts Volume 1 is LF00488, followed by Night of the Living Dead at LF00489, then Reefer Madness with LF00490. However, if you use the current listed dates, they start to get out of order. LF00492 releases two months before LF00491? LF00509 releases 3 months before LF00497? Just to check one of these, LF00497 is Planet of Dinosaurs, listed as released March 2, 2010. However, on the RiffTrax message board it is announced as available on October 18, 2009.

If I were to correct these, would the dates of the emails or forum posts announcing them for sale be good enough as release dates?

Doing more forum/email checking to gather the dates, but thought I'd mention there do seem to be some legitimate cases of the ID numbers being out of order.

Query about certain titles edit

There are a number of titles listed in the VOD section which are not available in that format. These include the "three riffers" version of "Reefer Madness", *any* version of "Little Shop", etc. Can anyone confirm these were ever available in that format?

Also, two of the "Three Stooges" titles ("Greatest Routines" and "in Color") are not Rifftrax at all, since they do not feature any commentary. They should be removed. Rhindle The Red (talk) 14:18, 29 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Sorting date system not working edit

There seem to be at least three major problems with the system being used to sort dated entries in this article, by including a no-display span element with the ISO date (which can be sorted easily) followed by a displayed U.S.-style date (which cannot). First, some of the pairs of dates don't match. For example, the entry for Red Dawn currently shows:

<span style="display:none">2009-07-18</span>July 2, 2009

This means that the one-click sort scrambles some entries. Second is the cumbersome maintenance issue in having two separate dates that allows error or mischief to create these problems. Third is the lack of citable sources that would permit editors to spot-check and fix these dates.
I think cited sources can be provided by a combination of RiffTrax-website links (which include digital release dates) and mst3kinfo.com pages (which include live-show dates), although these are really primary sources (which are generally frowned upon). Is there perhaps a Mediawiki-markup means to tag a single date to be displayed in U.S. (or user-selected) format other than using unnecessary and distracting wiki-links? ~ Jeff Q (talk) 16:29, 5 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Question on PD shorts edit

Should I add official links and/or citations for the public domain shorts that don't have articles of their own or no? Espngeek (talk) 01:34, 21 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
