Verifiability

Per WP:V, people listed here should either have their own article, or their existence and notability should be directly sourced in a footnote. Names that have neither a blue link nor a reference attached should be removed. dab (𒁳) 11:27, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Recent edit war

Singh, I'm reverting your edits because they do not conform to several well-established guidelines that Wikipedia has set up. The first is neutral point of view. This means making no subjective assertations. For example, you cannot call someone the "greatest warrior" of the group, as you did with Banda Bahadur. The only way you can say something like this is if you present it with independant reliable sources. Another policy you are unintentionally violating is that of verifiability. On Wikipedia, especially on massive lists such as this, everything that can be considered contentious must be verified by reliable sources. This policy was upheld in relation to this article last year at its [Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/List_of_Rajputs|deletion debate]]. For any questions you have regarding these topics, feel free to post here or contact me. Themfromspace (talk) 04:00, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

Apology

I apologize for my reversion of an edit to this article with a comment about a "POV-pusher" yesterday. I was reverting a number of inappropriate edits made yesterday by someone who is a readily identifiable POV-pusher, including an addition he made to this talk page, and I must have been seriously distracted because I also reverted someone else's edit in the article itself even though that wasn't his, and my reversion made no sense. I must have been seriously distracted. Thanks to User:Shshshsh for catching it and taking care of it. —Largo Plazo (talk) 12:01, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

Chandragupta maurya

y is Chandragupta Maurya not included in the list???...this is the extract 4rm the Rajput section.."Bappa Rawal of the Gahlot dynasty established his rule in 734 CE at Chittor. Chittor was until that time ruled by the Mori clan of Rajputs. Maan Mori was their last king at Chittor. It is believed the word Mori is a corruption of Maurya, the famous dynasty of Ashoka." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rajput ````--59.182.76.186 (talk) 20:23, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

Chandragupt Maurya was a Rajput, even Chanakya mentions Rajput Bardic Traditions in his poems. Chandragupt was a Great follower of Buddhism and Buddhism Mentions Rajput as a Kshatriya caste and Individual Identity of Kshatriya. Buddhism literature is the true evidence of why Kshatriya is synonymous with Rajput. Many Jat Ahir Yadav and Gujjar claim Chandragupt Maurya but Historical evidence suggest Jat Ahir Yadavs and Gujjar descend from a Rajput male and a concubine placed in Rajput Household, all historical inscription mentions jat as a fallen Rajput and Gujjar in their chronicle claim to descend from slave women captured by Male Rajput King.

Jat, Gujjars, Yadav and other foreign clans have no historical backing about them being included in Rajputs. The confusion has been there only because the surnames of Rajputs have been copied by these castes. In fact, there is a great social rivalry between Rajputs (high-caste Hindus) and Jats Gujjars Ahir Yadav(lower-caste people) wherever they coexist in society. Matrimonial alliances amongst these castes are rare. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2405:204:C18A:233A:3218:14B6:8027:BBCD (talk) 08:29, 6 October 2017 (UTC)

References

I have asked for references for this article in 2007. Nothing has happened. Of the entire list, five individuals have "references", all of them random urls.

I am sure it is possible to compile a referenced list of notable Rajput, but so far nobody has done that. I suggest we delete the article for now, since removing unreferenced content would amount to removing 100% of content. Anybody is of course welcome to start compiling a list of Rajputs that is actually based on references. --dab (𒁳) 09:37, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

why was shivaji name excluded

Shivaji sisodia origin has more than enough evidence to include his name in rajput list with a note that some scholars doubt it, when jats have got ranjit singh, gujjars have included prithwiraj chauhan himself though i am not doubting his gurjar origin as gurjar is a caste whereas rajput is a clan similar to maratha and hence chauhan can be rajputs of gurjar origin.122.161.78.118 (talk) 03:38, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

The name of PIRU SINGH SHEKHAWAT has been cut short to PIRU SINGH ---http://www.upscportal.in/param-veer-chakra.pdf here is the UPSC portal his name was PIRU SINGH SHEKHAWAT A KACHWAHA RAJPUT , these vandalism also shows the typical nature of non-rajputs.ABDEVILLIERS0007 (talk) 08:11, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

Sitush i dont really understand if you have "BASIC"understanding of CASTE SYSTEM or not because it seems doubtful that you are INDIAN OR HINDU, it will be better that you dont edit names without any knowledge. In modern day india , no NEWS ARTICLE will dare to term them RAJPUTS as this will create "POLITICAL TROUBLES" this thing was done in past as well. Shivaji was always considered RAJPUT but with "LATE BAKHARS" and then "DALIT MOVEMENT" started to claim him as a lower caste(even though none of them will say this in front of Shivaji family) this is all indian politics specially post independence where BEING UPPER CASTE IS A SIN.ABDEVILLIERS0007 (talk) 05:50, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

Discussion of sourcing

Before we start discussing sources for the edits that I have just reverted, please could people read WP:SOCK and User:Sitush/Common#Castelists. I am very familiar with the way that Indic caste groups try to do their thing here but at the end of the day they usually end up "losing", for want of a better word. It is entirely possible that I have made some mistakes here. It isn't common but I am human and crap happens. Compared to the number of mistakes made by the caste warriors etc, I come out well ahead.

Please can we discuss any concerns one person, one source at a time. That will make life easier for all of us and, in the event that we cannot agree, there is always the dispute resolution process. Most of the issues will probably end up at WP:RSN or WP:BLPN but there are alternatives. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 00:13, 14 September 2014 (UTC)

Mass revert

I may have overstepped the mark with this revert. These lists of alleged caste members are notoriously problematic and, frankly, I've had enough of trying to deal with the intricacies on this particular list right now. Please, do review User:Sitush/Common#Castelists and do note that websites - which are often dodgy at the best of times - are particularly dodgy when those who operate them happen to be aligned with the caste with which they claim a person bears an affiliation. Caste articles on Wikipedia and elsewhere on the internet are absolutely fraught with puffery and while we cannot control what goes on elsewhere we can at least expect a certain standard of verifiability here.

So, if I have unwittingly removed some names that were justifiably listed then I apologise for that and I'd be happy to see them reinstated. To make life easier for all of us, it might be best to reinstate them one at a time and thus avoid a lot of frustration all round. - Sitush (talk) 01:59, 28 November 2014 (UTC)

Rajput identity of Prithviraj Chauhan

Prithviraj Chauhan should not be included on this page as a Rajput, as he was classified as a Rajput long after his death. During his lifetime, the Rajput identity did not exist.[1] The source I am citing also talks about Rajputs and how different scholars have viewed their origin. However, this content is later in the book and I am not able to access it. User:Alivardi quoted some of it on Talk:Prithviraj Chauhan:

"I believe the Rāso contributed to the consolidation of an aristocratic Rajput identity beginning in the late sixteenth century. What the term Rajput meant prior to the Mughal period is a contentious issue, for scholars disagree about how far back we can trace the existence of the Rajputs as a community… Brajadulal Chattopadhyaya suggests that rājaputra was applied to a larger group of high-ranking men who also bore titles such as rāuta, rāvala, and rānaka… In contrast, Michael Bednar's examination of inscriptions from western and central India during the eleventh through fourteenth centuries indicates that thakkura, rāuta, and rājaputra were titles of rank that generally denoted official positions and were often not passed on from father to son. Chattopadhyaya may therefore, be somewhat premature in his assertion that Rajput identity existed in the twelfth or thirteenth centuries… Arguing in a different vein than Chattopadhyaya, Dirk H. A. Kolff claims that the label Rajput had previously denoted an open status identity that any successful warrior could acquire. During the Mughal period, however, the Rajputs closed ranks to form an aristocratic class whose membership was strictly circumscribed by birth… In any case, Rajput was not a term that figured in Indo-Persian texts prior to the sixteenth century, according to Peter Jackson, supporting the view that there was some change in the meaning of the term… As Rajput chiefs were increasingly co-opted into the Mughal system, a sharper line was drawn between them and the other, less elite, fighting men of India. One way of doing this was through acknowledging the kshatriya status of Rajputs… The repeated conflation of Rajput with kshatriya hat can be witnessed in Prthvīrāj Rāso is thus part of a larger early modern trend of stressing the elite nature of Rajputs"

If a user who has access to the full book can read through the part about Rajputs and other scholars views on their origin, that would be great, as I am sure it has lots of useful information. Chariotrider555 (talk) 03:04, 13 December 2020 (UTC)

The most common reason given by removers is that the Rajput identity did not exist in 12th century citing different sources. So tell me when did the identity came into existence and should we remove everyone before that time. Because, I don't see anybody removing Rawal Jaisal who died even before Prithviraj which makes me doubt the intentions of removers. Please explain Abhishek0831996 (talk) 04:35, 13 December 2020 (UTC)

The Rajput identity came into existence in the 16th century. [2][3][4][5] The reason no one removed Rawal Jaisal is that since he was such a minor king, there are no sources explicitly saying he was not a Rajput. In fact, when I tried to find some a few days ago, I pretty much couldn't (however, sources kept saying the word "legend" around him). Minor kings like Rawal Jaisal don't attract as much scrutiny from high end scholars the way Prithviraj Chauhan does. Sources make statements about Rajputs in general, and how they originated. They don't go through every single ruler and subclan and say, "Oh yes this dude was Rajput but this dude wasn't." They make statements about the community in general because Rajput is an identity that clans and people joined because it offered them greater status. Anyways, people and clans before the 16th century didn't identify as Rajput. Chariotrider555 (talk) 06:30, 13 December 2020 (UTC)

Would require reliable sources for the dead and if the person is living (WP:BLP), we would require self-identification as well, that is, an interview published in a reliable source in which the subject says something like "I am a Rajput" or "I'm from a Rajput family", etc. Otherwise, can't add them. It is as per consensus at WP:INB. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:50, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

@Aishtomar: Just merely having an article in Wikipedia doesn't get them in this article. Reiterating, every entry should have reliable sources backing up that the person is a Rajput. For the dead, reliable sources only will do, espacially scholarly sources for the historical ones. For living people, we need self=identification as per consensus, that is in an interview published in a reliable source, the subject had to say something like "I am a Rajput" or "I'm from a Rajput family". For example, Ravindra Jadeja, a living person clearly says that he is a Rajput in this source, thus we have added his name. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:03, 22 February 2021 (UTC)

I am not hurt. It is not a crime to be born in a Rajput family. This is one caste in the country in which even God was born, not once but many times. One should take pride in one’s caste, and I am proud to be a Rajput

Shivaji Rajput Origin is not Claimed it is PROVED

Shivaji the Great(Dr Balkrishna) and Historiy of Mudhol Ghorpade(DV APTE) proved it long ago that Shivaji was Rajput the FARMANS(ROYAL ORDERS) of Bahmani Sultans and Adil Shahi Sultans long ago demolished the 20th century RUMOR THAT SHIVAJI IS NOT A RAJPUT.

All the concerned contributors have a check on one of the user, the guy dont posses any knowledge of MARATHA, he has written that "SHIVAJI WAS MARATHA CASTE" . Wait Wait Wait IS MARATHA A CASTE then how are "CHITPAVAN BRAHMINS"(Peshwa Family) were Brahmins and Shinde(sindhia) and Holkar were "SHUDRA" . The guy dont posses any knowledge and the statement given by that guy in deleting the name of Shivaji was typical he said "SOME PEOPLE CLAIM" , my dear friend you are saying opposite thing HIS RAJPUT ORIGIN WAS ACCEPTED ALWAYS, the works on the basis of which SOME POLITICALLY MOTIVATED HISTORIAN DOUBT RAJPUT ORIGIN ARE -

1-Shiva Digvijaya Bakhar(composed in 1818)

2-91 qalmi Bakhr(written in 1760s)

3-Shedgaonkar Bakhar(written in 1854)

none of these works are CONTEMPORARY work of Shivaji life. Further by deleting well SOURCED content from WIKIPEDIA is a violation bear this fact in mind. 122.161.222.51 (talk) 14:22, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

Rather than SHOUTING etc, is it possible to provide a source that explicitly says Shivaji was a Rajput. Forget the Maratha stuff for now because that sends us down byways regarding whether or not Marathas are Rajput; and forget other specific caste groups also, for the same reason. Usually, it is possible to find a source that uses the "Rajput" word and complies with our policies. Do that and the problem goes away. And, please, try to do it using a modern source rather than something from a couple of centuries ago - a lot of rubbish was written then, on all sorts of subjects, and we much prefer to use recent sources.

Equally, a message for the "other side" in this dispute: I realise that it is more difficult to prove a negative but I am aware that the Shivaji point has been contentious in the past, so can you find any reliable source that discusses his caste etc? - Sitush (talk) 17:13, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

Please note that this article has been semi-protected once more. That means that IP contributors and other users who are not autoconfirmed will be unable to edit it. Fear not: make a request here and if it seems ok then I or someone else will sort it out. For example, if you can find something that resolves my query above then I will make it clear in the article, should that be necessary. - Sitush (talk) 17:22, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

And yes this once again proves that you know nothing about Shivaji. PERSIAN FARMANS(I HOPE YOU ATLEAST KNEW THE MEANING OF FARMANS) given by BAHMANI AND ADILSHAHI SULTANS to Shivaji's ancestors have proven long back that BHONSLE AND GHORPADES(COUSINS) are descendants of SISODIA RAJPUTS.05:58, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

Sitush as again i hold more knowledge than you in this matter and if you will visit BHOSLE you will see that i have given the EVIDENCES OF SHIVAJI SHUDRA ORIGIN AS WELL but the sources which speaks of SHIVAJI AS LOWER CASTE ARE SO LATE IN DATE THAT NO NEUTRAL HISTORIAN WILL CONSIDER THEM. ABDEVILLIERS0007 (talk) 05:54, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

I think the problem with WIKI editors are that their is no guideline because of which any editor , edits anything even when he dont know much about that thing and that is the biggest NEGATIVE point of Wikipedia. And no its not you many other too think and back themselves with jadunath sarkar and his followers , first he was not the best biograpeher of Shivaji, be it Britannica or Soviet encyclopaedia , the Shivaji article has been sourced mainly from Dr Balkrishna Shivaji the Great. Further many historians are politically motivated who may be soft on "MUSLIMS AND LOWER CASTE HINDUS". none the less many EMINENT MARATHA HISTORIANS(CV VAIDYA, GH KHARE, DV APTE, KELUSKAR, DB PARASNIS) support Shivaji rajput origin(this is before the discovery of persian farmans after the discovery their is no contest).ABDEVILLIERS0007 (talk) 06:06, 5 June 2012 (UTC) ABDEVILLIERS0007 (talk) 06:06, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

I do agree that Maratha is a distinct category, and there have been an age when all leading clans tried to glorify them as Rajputs. Now my question is why Santaji Ghorpade is included in the list. are only rajasthani rajputs rajputs

few fools have edited Maratha rajputs from this list, from which era you have come, many maratha families have descent of rajputs and if you want proof then here is the proof, GS SARDESAI the noted and probably the greatest maratha historian writes this---http://books.google.co.in/books?id=lTVuAAAAMAAJ&q=their+is+no+doubt+ancestor+of+several+present+day+maratha+families+as+has+been+shown+in+the+first+chapter+migrated+from+north+rajput&dq=their+is+no+doubt+ancestor+of+several+present+day+maratha+families+as+has+been+shown+in+the+first+chapter+migrated+from+north+rajput&hl=en&ei=qtLITpr2OIHkrAfl68TBDg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CC4Q6AEwAA go through this the fact is Maratha is no caste and we maratha no our history better than anti-maratha and anti-rajput people. Chatrapati maharaj shivaji was rajput so are we, shahu maharaj was no descendant of shivaji he was a "GHATGE" who claim themselves to be rajput but dont have any proof.

similarly how can rajputs ignore "ZORAWAR SINGH" and "GULAB SINGH" the two brilliant dogra rajputs whose name used to strike fear among muslims the reason why "SRINAGAR" is with india and not with pakistan are these "DOGRA RAJPUTS" you have included karan singh name but not his famous ancestor gulab singh.122.161.9.103 (talk) 10:15, 20 November 2011 (UTC)

Therefore their is no question of those deletion the maratha rajput origin has been long proven and was confirmed by many old persian documents and many other sources and i know those people who are behind these deletion but with a general agreement of GS SARDESAI and many more scholars we can assume that "SEVERAL MARATHA CLANS ARE RAJPUTS" though to save with 100% authenticity that which maratha is rajput and which is not will be difficult but general statement "SEVERAL MARATHA FAMILIES ARE RAJPUTS" by a noted scholar and their are many other evdiences which prove rajput origin of several maratha clans.122.161.214.50 (talk) 10:27, 20 November 2011 (UTC)

Shivraj Singh Chouhan C.M. Of Madhya Pradesh

Is Shivraj Singh Chouhan C.M. Of Madhya Pradesh, a Rajput. As his caste as referenced Kirar is an Thakur caste and many like Ahir, Jat, Gujjar, they also claim to be Rajput or Kshatriya. Chauhan, Yadav etc. are the surnames used by kirars in Madhya Pradesh. Please clarify? thanxmahensingha 06:52, 23 December 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mahensingha (talkcontribs)

Rajput is not a caste, it is only collection of various castes such as sisodia rajputs originates from gujjars, rathores are from south indian low castes, bhati rajputs are from yadav . Rajput is only collection of different sub clans from different castes(similar to maratha , maratha are no caste but include brahmin, kshatriya, vaishya, dalits and tribals)106.208.227.131 (talk) 07:57, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

Still, this fact remains fact that Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan belongs to "Kirar (Chobdar)" caste group and is an kshatriya Leader. He by no means is a Rajput Leader. No matter how many Rajputs cite his name for their present glorification. Also, i raised this question because none of the similar caste group leaders are included in this list, owing to the discussion going on in the other sections of this page. mahensingha 10:36, 17 May 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mahensingha (talkcontribs)

Firstly Rajputs are not a collection of castes, they are a part of kshatriya caste of the Hindu caste system. Everybody in MP knows this I don't know nobody has yet changed it. Please do so. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.59.223.184 (talk) 11:57, 17 October 2013 (UTC)

Hello, This article about list of Rajputs excludes many notable historic member of Rajput caste that includes Prithviraj Chauhan, Hammir Dev Chauhan of Ranthambore. I guess name of Prithviraja was in list before a notorious vandal named as Chariotrider removed it. (Who try to distort Rajput history mainly). After I went through his account, I found that he might be operating multiple accounts too. So, Its my humble request to responsible editors who have this page on their watchlost to add Prithviraj Chauhan in Historic Figures list. There are endless sources for same, As all learned authors mentioned him as Rajput. @Ratnahastin and Shinjoya: You both heavily edit these article. So, Please include the names requested above.

Here is a reliable source with quotes:

  • Quote:- How far Rajput militory organization changed to adapt to new condition is obvious from the fact that the battle of Tarain between Rajput Prithvi Raj and Shihabuddin Ghori was mainly a fight of cavalryman armed with bows and spears 2402:3A80:969:F22:7A68:91F6:F0C1:A9E7 (talk) 11:51, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
Note: From Prithviraj Chauhan: Prithviraj's dynasty was classified as one of the Rajput clans in the later period, including in Prithviraj Raso, although the 'Rajput' identity did not exist during his time. (referring to ~1190 CE). TGHL ↗ 🍁 15:43, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

My Response

@TheGoodAndHolyLord: This is copied text from his main article which is highly dubious. Cynthia tablot, the author of this book never visited India and forget visiting, She didn't even quote footnotes or inscriptions for her bogous claims. She isn't end all and be all on Prithviraj. Anyone who knows Indian history, Know that fact that Prithviraj is well-established as Rajput king.

Anyway, I do have aceadmic sources which shows that people call themsleves Rajput even in 6th century. (So, How such identity didn't exist at time of late 12th century king ???)

Do anyone need sources ???? I can add 5-6 works of famous authors.17:46, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

List of six sources

A. Barbara N. Ramusack (2003). The Indian Princes and their States, The New Cambridge History of India. Cambridge University Press. p. 14. ISBN 9781139449083.

Here is first one from Barbara N. Ramusack a well known historian and scholar.

    • Quote:- By the sixth century, There are historical evidences of people calling themselves Rajput begins to settle in Indo-Gangetic Plain. Over the course of ten centuries they came to control land and people....

If there are historical evidences of people themselves calling them Rajputs, How Such identity don't exist 500 years later ????

Need more ??

This source from Irfan Habib is bit costly therefore I am providing suitable quotes here

    • Quote:- After going through several inscriptions particularly In the Mahoba fort (actually from Kasrak near Badaun) in an entry of 1234, The Rautas are spoken of as a Jati or caste, Rauta is actually the Prakrit form of Rajaputra (In Hindi, Rajput caste) and a Rajput caste had established itself well before 13th century

D. Upinder Singh (1999). Ancient Delhi. Oxford University Press. ISBN 978-0-19-564919-2.

This source is available which clearly mentioned Minhaj U Siraj (court historian of Muhmmad Ghori call Prithviraj as Rajput, quote for same)

    • Quote Minhaj U Siraj's narrates the defeat of Prithviraja in Second battle of Tarain. He narrates that The Rajput king who was riding an horse....

E. Sara R. Farris (2013-09-05). Max Weber’s Theory of Personality: Individuation, Politics and Orientalism in the Sociology of Religion. BRILL. ISBN 978-90-04-25409-1.

A renowned sociologist and scholar Farris also observed that by Eight century Rajputs begin to perform the fuctions that belongs to Kshatriya. So there must be caste group in Eight century already.

    • Quote:- In about the eight century the Rajput thus began to perform the functions that had formerly belonged to the Kshatriya, assuming their social and economic position and substituting them as the new warrior class

F. Eugenia Vanina (2012). Medieval Indian Mindscapes: Space, Time, Society, Man. Primus Books. ISBN 978-93-80607-19-1.

Russian Inodologist Eugenia Vanina believes that first reference to Rajput clans were made in Seventh and Eight century. Long before time span of subject.

    • Quote By the period of seventh–eights centuries AD when the first references to the Rajput clans and their chieftains were made

Great citations, IP, I stand corrected. I am not familiar in the area myself but it appears many sources acknowledge there were Rajputs in this era. If Prithviraj were to show up on this list, the main article would have to be edited to reflect that. A blurb would have to be written for this article, still, but from the main article we can gather: Prithviraj Chauhan, king from the Chahamana dynasty who ruled Sapadalaksha (present-day north-western India). Not much, but a start – would this work? TGHL ↗ 🍁 23:55, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
@TheGoodAndHolyLord: I agree with you here. The main article too should be accomodated for this addition which is well-sourced. These are just six sources, I have multiple more for the same also. Anyway, We can just add the name of King here too; But major problem here is these days there aren't many socialized editors like you. What I saw are group of vandals in Rajput related topics who tries their level best to somehow distort Rajput past. Do you know recently a lot of content have been removed by Chairotrider on Rajput resistance to Muslim Conquestsarticle too ???? It seems they have a narrative as its not uncommon to distort history of Rajputs (Obviois jealousy from a major social group of South asia)
Heba Aisha, LukeEmily, Charitorider (probably worst), SpacemanEmily, Ravnesfire are such group of editors who back each other edits and revert all contributions outside of that with reason like poor sources (Although there are aceadmic sources for same), block evasion etc.
So, Can you now Please add the name here ?? If, not I will log-in in few days myself, But since article is protected, I will be hard for me to edit then too. Thanks and have a good time ahead. 2402:8100:2167:C463:3F2F:3D2E:F800:F00E (talk) 01:27, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
Done in revision 1025159716. I included the original citation and the fourth one (letter 'D') you listed, as they both mention Prithviraj by name. As for the vandalism: are there any specific diffs you can provide that show this? It may require administrator intervention. (By "diffs", I mean edits in the "history" page – copy the URL of "prev.") TGHL ↗ 🍁 02:10, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
Hail the triumph of Rajputisation! It's rather hard for someone to be part of something that didn't exist until several hundred years after. You can see multiple discussion above about this. Shrug - not going to fight it, the caste pushing is frankly insanely tiring and not worth putting up with the repeated BS. Ravensfire (talk) 02:19, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
@TheGoodAndHolyLord: Thanks, One more request is you add his name in nearly bottom section; Earlier the name was on first place which it should be as per chornology order of ruler as Prithviraj belongs to late 12th century,
Also Install this image of Prithviraj Chauhan
File:Prithvi Raj Chauhan (Edited).jpg,
Then Rana Sanga image and at last Maharana Pratap image. (Also Veer Kunwar Singh and Durgadas Rathore image) (In order)
It will be very beneficial, If you first add image of this 5 figures and then written names in chornology order of kings. (Everything seems fine apart from Prithviraj name which should be at No.1 after Rawal Jaiswal as per reign of Kings). Please do it too and Thanks again.2402:8100:2167:C463:CE83:3B1D:A3B2:2EC7 (talk) 02:24, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
Done in revision 1025163391: moved to second position (reign of Rawal Jaisal Singh is earlier), added blurb at top of section for chronology. I did not add the statue, though, as there are already too many photos for the size of the list already (the photos were hanging into other sections and offsetting their photos on my desktop view). I can imagine it must not look good on the mobile site with them breaking up the list, so they were moved to the top. TGHL ↗ 🍁 02:43, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

@TheGoodAndHolyLord: Thanks again. However, I still supports the addition of statue of PRC (Prithvirah Chauhan). If you find some decent modern reliable sources then you could create an article for him, perhaps using our WP:AFC facility if you are uncertain of how to begin. If he was indeed a Rajput and that is sourced in your article then, sure, he can be added to this list. I must say that I find your description astonishing: if he did what you say then I would have expected us already to have something about him, so you might also want to check first to see if an article has been created under another name. For example, the "ji" suffix is usually an honorific rather than a part of a person's real name. - Sitush (talk) 17:01, 18 July 2012 (UTC)

Done I struck two of your citations as noted above. I left out mention of the Indian Order of Merit as not relevant. Xan747 (talk) 22:34, 15 July 2023 (UTC)

Kindly remove Chander Kumar from the list. The given reference does not mention him belonging to Rajput community but from OBC. Kindly check the given reference once, the mention of Rajput caste is for other leaders. Kshatriya Yoddha (talk) 11:56, 29 June 2023 (UTC)

Not done: 1. The article title and lede says all entries are Rajputs. 2. According to Other Backward Class, Rajput is an OBC. Aaron Liu (talk) 20:19, 14 July 2023 (UTC)
Kindly refer to this line in start of the article: Four of the seven ministers hail from the Rajput community, while one each is from Schedule Tribe (ST), Other Backward Caste (OBC), and Schedule Caste (SC).
Therefore, Chander Kumar is not OBC and Rajput at the same time, he is an OBC leader as given in the article.
Also, according to Other Backward Class, Rajputs come under OBC only from Karnataka while the person being discussed is from Uttarakhand. Kshatriya Yoddha (talk) 07:12, 15 July 2023 (UTC)

Done Agree that given source did not support inclusion in the list and removed him accordingly. Xan747 (talk) 23:03, 15 July 2023 (UTC)

Correction for Jitendra Singh

The politician Jitendra Singh's link has been mistakenly directed to the politician Jitendra_Singh_(politician,_born_1971) whose name has already beem mentioned, making twice reference to same name. Kindly correct it. Also [[Jitendra_Singh_(politician,_born_1956) doesn't belongs to the Jammu Royal family as written in the description, kindly see the reference article clearly, its for another politician.   Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate.

It is very frustrating that you don't specify exactly the changes you want made. You will get faster responses if you use the following format to request edits. Editors will be very thankful if you write the modifications as WP:Wikitext so that it can be pasted straight into the article.

FROM: Jitendra Singh (politician, born 1971), Bharatiya Janata Party politician from Jammu and Kashmir, member of the Jammu and Kashmir Royal Family.[1]

  Done

Please note that creating citations containing only a URL as you did is strongly discouraged. This is because a proper citation gives the reader more information, and if the URL goes dead, gives editors a better chance of locating the reference elsewhere.

You can read about the various citation templates at Wikipedia:Citation templates. However, creating citations manually can be tedious, and various tools exist to make the process easier. My favorite is to use Wikipedia:VisualEditor--it contains a wizard that creates proper citations from pasting a URL, though often some manual editing is required.

Annoyingly it doesn't work on talk pages. For that, if you're in edit source mode, click on the Cite dropdown, and select Templates. It will give you a form to fill out manually, which I still find easier to use than manually editing a template. Xan747 (talk) 16:58, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
