Software suite

Do some of the apps (mainly the ROM apps) qualify as being part of a software suite? --Trevj (talk) 11:39, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

It then goes on to list lots of applications that were only shipped with only one version of the OS or other. Maybe there should be a distinction between applications bundled with the OS (Paint, HForm etc), and those ones that have been shipped as part of optional software packs (learning curve, oregano 2/cddvdburn sold with iyonix).

Basically a split of what you might actually typically find, and a comprehensive list of absolutely everything that once came sold with a RISC OS machine?

Perhaps this split is a bit of an improvement. I've retained the column titled 'First inclusion (Machine model)' within the 'Typically bundled' list for the moment, to make it easier to switch stuff between lists (for where I've cocked up). -- Trevj (talk) 13:12, 9 July 2012 (UTC)

Why BASIC?

Not sure BASIC merits an entry, it doesn't start with a ! and the other ROM tasks (like Pinboard) aren't mentioned Sprow (talk) 20:59, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

Revamp of page

After listing the applications bundled in the three significant RISC OS 5 software only distros: ePic/NutPi, RISC OS Direct, and Cloverleaf, for Archive magazine, I am now in a position to reflect that information on this Wikipedia page. That requires a rethink on format and conventions, which I have started to build in my sandbox. Anyone interested please feed back what you think. Thanks. Bernardboase 18:16, 14 February 2022 (UTC)

Looks reasonable to me, although if the big field of checkmarks on the right is accurate (everything has everything) maybe there's a more effective way to convey that? Bill Woodcock (talk) 14:34, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

Er, this was only the beginning of a longish list in which the check marks and background colours would not appear for applications that are not included in a specific distro of the OS. Anyway, as explained in our Teahouse conversation, I seem to have found a more suitable wiki in which to put all the detail that I was planning: riscos.info. Thanks again for your interest.
