Names? edit
Might it be better to list the Prime Ministers by the names they used in office, rather than their subsequent hereditary titles? More people will be familiar with "Harold Macmillan" than with "The Earl of Stockton", for example. Tevildo 15:44, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

- If the article lists PMs by 'the names they used in office' then I suggest that it should refer to the Marquess of Salisbury rather than Robert Cecil, the Earl of Rosebery rather than Archibald Primrose etc. Compare List of Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom.Alekksandr (talk) 23:27, 19 December 2014 (UTC)

- Historians generally regard Robert Walpole, who became head of government in 1721, as the "First" Prime Minister. I will add an explanation of this to the lead in the next few days. Road Wizard (talk) 07:44, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
Days in office edit
I think...
- Henry Pelham should have 3,833 not 3,844 days due to conversion to the Gregorian calendar.
- David Lloyd George should have 2,142 not 2,145 as he resigned 19 October not rather than 22 October.
- Edward Smith-Stanley should have 1,381 days as some of the end of term dates are wrong.
- Charles Grey should have 1,325 not 1,332 as he resigned on 9th, not 16th.
- Alec Douglas-Home was appointed on Saturday 19 October 1963, not Friday 18 (Mac resigned) so should have 363 not 364
- Andrew Bonar Law resigned on 20th May not 22nd so 209 not 211 days (number10.gov says 209)

Lord Wilmington's birthdate edit
Where did you get the precise birthdate for Spencer Compton from? It is uncited, not given in the DNB or History of Parliament (the latter of which placed his birth year as circa 1674), and it seems to be unknown to the writers of his Wikipedia biography (calling the year circa 1673).Cloptonson (talk) 21:46, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
