Talk:List of Postman Pat episodes

Article needs re-written edit

I've added a cleanup tag because the page is simply a mess. I can't find any evidence of these supposed "unaired" episodes but I have left them in for the moment, giving who ever added them the benefit of the doubt and a chance to add some citations. Otherwise I'll redo the whole page.--Thetriangleguy 17:51, 18 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Total Overhaul edit

I just finished rebuilding the list from the top down, cross-checking titles and removing the bogus unaired episodes. There are some conflicts in the episode titles at some of the sources; in these cases, I arbitrarily picked one. I wasn't sure what to do with the specials that aired in and around series three, so I combined them into one section, though I don't feel strongly about it. This list probably needs to be formatted better, and probably should include the original air dates (though I don't fully trust the sources with respect to dates). For airdates, the BBC Program Database is very reliable for showing all the times the episodes were shown on the BBC. It'll take a fair amount of work going through it all though.

for example the following shows the entry for the first episode Postman Pat's Finding Day, showing the first broadcast on 16 September 1981 (at 13:43).

Has this webpage been superceded by wikia? edit

The wikia lists many more episodes from Series 3 to Series 7 (26-28 episodes per series). I note, in particular, episode 7.26 - Postman_Pat_and_the_Christmas_Panto_Horse - which was recently broadcast on CBeebies, but there seem to be many other episodes, unlisted here, which wikia claims to have been broadcast. Why have new SDS Series 3 details been removed? edit

Series 8 (SDS Series 3) is currently being broadcast on CBeebies. I noticed that the details for this new series were being added to the wiki, but they now seem to have been reverted off. Any particular reason why? Kirbett (talk) 13:29, 23 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

I have readded the third series, along with missing references.--Carniolus (talk) 15:17, 25 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Fan generated content edit

Just for the sake of future reference; Wikipedia does not list shoddy, fan-made, "re-makes" of Postman Pat, containing copyright violations of the original programme, on unofficial Youtube channels. Wikipedia is not a fansite and this is not an appropriate place for these. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 11:40, 7 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Fan generated content edit

Although I appreciate Wikipedia states it does not want fan-based detail and the tag assumes such content would not be of interest to general readers, in my opinion it is just such a fan that does appreciate the detail - exactly what I wanted to find when I searched for the page. Details of the episodes, as full as possible!

(I'm not disputing whether or not content may violate any copyright law or other; that is not my issue.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by David Rule (talkcontribs) 23:44, 29 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

+++ Today I have taken a better look into this article and I can find nothing that would justify either of the two tags. (I have been researching Episode Lists of various vintage television programmes; this page does not greatly differ from the others - *except that it lacks some production detail introducing each new series.) Thank you for your attention.

Concerns over grammatical quality. edit

Having noted that the episode summary for "Postman Pat and the Suit of Armour" contains a typographical error, the quality of the episode table appears dubious. I do not know how to go about editing this document but plainly it is not flawless. GyrateTau (talk) 20:05, 14 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
