This is just a list which does not require references [unsigned comment added by User:85.82.158.89]

That is not entirely correct, I am afraid. If a person on the list is shown to be a notable Pakistani scientist or philosopher in their Wikipedia article (blue-linked individuals), then you are right. For someone without that showing, a reference is needed. Tim Ross (talk) 11:12, 12 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Har Gobind Khorana edit

Har Gobind Khorana was born in Raipur, Pakistan. Although it was a British Colony tacked onto India, the land is known today as Pakistan. BeowulfBrower (talk) 18:29, 14 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Good suggestion BeowulfBrower. But I'm not sure if this individual has Pakistani citizenship. What should the criteria for inclusion be, @Mar4d:? VR talk 17:07, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Vice regent: As the title implies, the list would do justice to its scope by including only those people who are of Pakistani origin or held Pakistani citizenship. Like another Nobel prize winner Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar, Khurana too was born in an area of modern Pakistan, but they both were not Pakistanis after 1947. So then you would include both of them because they are of Pakistani origin? VR talk 17:17, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Table-ify edit

@Mar4d:, I would prefer this list be table-ified with the columns giving name, date (of birth?) and notable accomplishments. I think this should also be organized by fields like Chemistry, Physics etc.VR talk 17:05, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Vice regent: Definitely a good idea to organise it by fields as that would add clarity. I am not sure about table-fying though (it may make the list incredibly difficult to maintain in the long term, given the endless list of names...) Mar4d (talk) 17:07, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
On second thought, I can't find any other lists with such organization. List of Indian scientists, List of British scientists etc are only arranged alphabetically. So it might instead be better to just do spinoff articles like List of Pakistani physicists.VR talk 17:23, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Sure. I think we can just organise the list alphabetically. If it gets too long, we could potentially look at having specialised lists like the physicists one. Mar4d (talk) 06:50, 10 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
