The category for towns in Oxfordshire also lists Burford, Charlbury, Churchill, Cropredy, and Woodstock, but none of their entries give a population so I have not added them to the table. In any case, I think some of them maybe officially villages so perhaps they shouldn't be counted? On the other hand some villages (e.g. Kidlington) are bigger than many towns. Merge edit
It should be merged with Oxfordshire, and deleted, then people will actually update the table, as it is now it's useless. 90.207.38.228 (talk) 21:49, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
- Support merge/redirect - I see no reason for a separate page and it enhances the target article which is in need of content. However, it can't then be deleted for GFDL reasons. TerriersFan (talk) 02:08, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
- Comment, I have no opinion on the merge, what I do have is an objection to the way it was done. Dzhugashvili (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log) created Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Oxfordshire towns by population which was closed as no consensus. Two days later 90.207.38.228 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log) tags the article for a merge and makes the above comment. Less than an hour later 90.210.78.70 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log) moves the material to Oxfordshire and tag this article as a speedy delete. Looking through the contributions of three editors shows that they are one and the same. The merge may or may not be correct but using IP sockpuppts to give less than an hours notice of a merge after the AfD was just closed is not the way to do it.
