This article is somewhat inaccurate. Although it is accurate in the sense that it reflects football titles won from 1972 onward (i.e when the playoff system began) it does not accurately reflect the history prior to that advent. OHSAA has always been the governing body of Prep athletics in Ohio in the modern era. Regardless of the lack of a playoff system in place prior to 37 years ago, the AP State Champions leading up to that point are no less a part of OHSAA athletics. Just becasue the system changed the way the champion is determined doesn't mean that the OHSAA discredits the prior awards, nor does it mean they weren't the authority all along.

For the sake of historical accuracy, the article needs to reflect that shift -- whether with an asterisk next to the included teams dating back to 1902 or with a sub-section. This is particularly important in football, given the massive tradition that is Ohio High School Football. It's akin to discrediting the validity of the NFL Championship records existing before Super Bowl I. Ryecatcher773 (talk) 07:14, 6 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Breaking apart the lists edit

These lists should really each be their own wikipedia page. This page should just link to all of them. I started thinking about this because I was checking out this page on mobile and the current arrangement of sections make it difficult to find what you're looking for. I might start creating new pages soon with the intent of migrating all of these. Feel free to voice objections. Nathan (talk) 04:19, 9 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

I went ahead split them up and changed up the headings. Nathan (talk) 05:31, 9 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
