Abbreviation: HagaMUN

Organizer: Gymnasium Haganum

Location: The Hague

Country: Netherlands

Year established: 2010

Future date: March 8-10 2024

The source to this is: https://hagamun.org/about-hagamun/ and https://hagamun.org/welcome-to-hagamun-2024/ (and simply https://hagamun.org/ for the dates).

 Not done: While one page in the provided source states that this organization started in 2010, the "Previous" page only lists 2023. Thus, it is not clear how many of these have occurred in order to fulfill the requirement that there be at least five annual editions to be listed.  Spintendo  08:02, 27 December 2023 (UTC)

apologies for missing that requirement. The welcome letter [https://hagamun.org/welcome-to-hagamun-2024/] describes the 2024 edition as the "thirteenth annual session of the Haganum Model United Nations."

Formatting- Dates

I find that the last and future dates box is generally inconsistent. How should the date be formatted?

Should the date have a - or a –? (February 22–24, 2024)

Should their be space before and after such a character? (February 22 - 25, 2024)

How about for a single day conference?

Should the date go before the month or after? (e.g: February 22-24, 2024 or 22-24 February 2024)

Lastly, should their be a comma before the year? (e.g: March 21-22, 2024)

I agree, the inconsistency is a problem. The first question is whether we should keep the last and future dates section up: is it encyclopedic or is it a breach of WP:NOTDIRECTORY? Originally, I created it because it was useful to track conferences that had ceased to operate, but now I'm having second thoughts.

As for the consistency part of the question, WP:DATEOVERVIEW provides an overview of best practices of MOS:DATERANGE, which is the relevant style guideline. We should probably follow that. The relevant section gives this example:

They travelled June 3 – August 18, 1952; They travelled 3 June – 18 August 1952

We should use DMY dates per MOS:DATE since the geographical scope is global, meaning 20 May 2024 rather than May 20, 2024.

So, I think 22 – 24 February 2024 with the spaced en-dash is the way to go. Thoughts? Pilaz (talk) 10:44, 20 May 2024 (UTC)

I think we should keep the dates for now, I would say that they are encyclopedic, but I can see the argument for removing them.
