Did some massive editing edit

I added most of the other teams...the non-AAA teams. I'll add the indy leagues later. --Woohookitty 05:40, 17 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Too long to print edit

I would splitting the alphabetical list from the listing by league. It's really too long to print otherwise. --Paploo 14:31, 6 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Many affiations incorrect edit

Great list guys, However, many of the affiliations are incorrect in several locations. I have changes some, but not nearly all the mistakes. I suggest a comb through using the MLB.com team pages. Go to Rosters and select minor league affiliates. Logos are there as well. Good luck.TrojanGuardian 04:06, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Understood. However, I had to revert your changes on the Angels. The AP can say whatever it wants to but the article on Wikipedia is for the full name. --Woohookitty(meow) 04:35, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
I went ahead and just linked the LA Angels entries to LA Angels of Anaheim so we can avoid the redirect. --Woohookitty(meow) 06:31, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
And btw, the ones that are wrong are wrong because the affiliates literally just changed their affiliations. --Woohookitty(meow) 06:34, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
not wrong, updated. they were changed. you think it needs changes again? check back regularly on the latest team affiliations before any correction.

the carolina mudcats is a double a team of the reds not high a for the indians and the indians high a team is the kinston indians does play in that league if anyone can fix that — Preceding unsigned comment added by Duke of the mid south (talkcontribs) 18:33, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Independent teams? Non-North American leagues? edit

I know we like to include alot of data but Independent Leagues are not affiliated with Minor League Baseball or Major League Baseball and should probably not be included here. There already is a page for Indepent Leagues on Wikipedia.

Also, how about amending the introduction (which says Canada, U.S., Mexico) or else dropping the non-North American leagues (DSL, VSL)? 66.37.94.119 (talk) 05:49, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I disagree with this because the article says "minor league baseball", not "Minor League Baseball." To support my opinion, see the articles, "Minor league baseball" and "Minor League Baseball.

Question edit

Should Central League (1888) be merged with Central League (baseball)? Alex (talk) 08:11, 7 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Does anyone know how to fix the map? I see at least one team that has changed names listed by its old name. The West Tenn Diamond Jax have changed their name to The Jackson Generals. 05:48, 16 December 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.166.175.124 (talk)

Seating capacity and divisions edit

Im gonna add the aforementioned. the info is taken from the league article on this wiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Esb5415 (talkcontribs) 00:07, 14 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I noticed that there are teams in the Mexican League aren't up to date as is on their wiki page. so im not gonna do theirs. Esb5415 23:48, 14 May 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Esb5415 (talkcontribs)

Scope edit

The article seems to have a vague scope. It include MLB regardless of country and mlb, but only in the US. All the best: Rich Farmbrough15:36, 28 November 2014 (UTC).

Mexican teams in the alphabetical list edit

It's kinda always bothered me that the Mexican League teams in the alphabetical list are listed not by their actual names (which are in Spanish, and have the nickname first), but instead by an English translation. Especially since the league-specific list in the Triple-A section has the Spanish names instead. I thin k I'm going to change it. oknazevad (talk) 01:19, 12 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Transclude each league's list of teams edit

I am considering replacing each league's list of teams with transcluded lists from each league's article as is done in Triple-A (baseball) and Double-A (baseball). I don't see any information in these lists that doesn't also appear in the corresponding league article's list. This change would eliminate much replicated information which must be kept synchronized with each league's article. Any other opinions on this? Now, back to the World Series ... Some lists are formatted differently (sortable or non-sortable, background colors). Also, a browser purge is sometimes necessary to see current versions of transcluded information. Still, this would be useful to keep from having to update so many pages when a team changes affiliations, names, stadiums, etc. NatureBoyMD (talk) 15:55, 28 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
All lists of teams in MiLB league articles are now sortable, and transcluding background colors can be suppressed. Other than the Pacific Coast League (which has conferences), all of the other league articles have the column order: Division | Team | Affiliation | City | Stadium | Capacity, and a few have a Founded column. The Mexican League teams are ordered by location here vice by nickname in its own article. I'd say the ordering here is more consistent with that of other leagues, though its own article could easily have its teams reordered by location as well. Once this is done, all of the MiLB league article tables would have a consistent layout and format suitable for transcluding here. Except for the Atlantic League, all other independent league article tables already follow this same layout. However, I'm unsure whether those should also be transcluded here. Southwest League of Professional Baseball edit

They will debut in 2019 and they already have 4 teams: Dallas Texans, Joplin Miners, Royse City Griffins and Waco BlueCats. 3 more are expected to join later, most likely in Lubbock, Texas; Tyler, Texas; Victoria, Texas (they used to have the Coastal Bend Aviators also in Robstown, Texas) and Woodward, Oklahoma (they attempted to join the Pecos League). I don't believe the Salina Stockade are, they're a traveling team in the Can-Am League for 2019 after they were in two previous leagues. 67.49.89.214 (talk) 16:14, 30 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

wait till the league actually starts playing.. lots of indy leagues have folded without playing a single game. Spanneraol (talk) 19:23, 30 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
And in this case none of the ballparks supposedly being constructed for the league have actually been built. Plus the Joplin lease was cancelled by the city due to non-payment. They are certainly not launching in the next couple of months. oknazevad (talk) 22:29, 2 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Desert League edit

Currently on hiatus, they have 4 teams in Southern California based in their home field in Yuma, Arizona. They cancelled their 2018 season, but I will let you all know what happens next. The teams are the Imperial County Ghost Riders, Somerton Caneros, Yuma Hammers and Maple Leafs. Cancelled teams are the (Southwest) Caballeros represent Imperial Valley, California; (Blythe-Havasu) Heat represent Blythe, California; (Canada) Jays and (Colorado River) Snow Falcons represent Lake Havasu City. 67.49.85.100 (talk) 18:53, 2 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

There's has been zero evidence of them restarting operations. oknazevad (talk) 22:27, 2 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Pecos League 2021 edit

http://www.pecosleague.com/pecosleague.asp?year=2021&page=2021 16 teams slated to play in the Pecos League in 2021. 2605:E000:100D:C571:5DBA:17AB:D1CF:EB47 (talk) 05:21, 11 October 2020 (UTC) Apparently, 4 teams are not in the realignment, but the Salina Stockade, Durango Dogs, Maricopa Monsoon and River Islands Islanders are in the schedule or evident on the league official website. http://www.pecosleague.com/ 2605:E000:100D:C571:5DBA:17AB:D1CF:EB47 (talk) 05:23, 11 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Just wait. Like I said at the Pecos League talk page, the league has a history of off-season inconsistency that means any updates are not worth worrying about until the season actually starts. oknazevad (talk) 15:15, 11 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
