Father/Son recognition

1893 Tarcoola won the Melbourne Cup. Only time in the history of the Melbourne Cup that a trainer and jockey have been father and son combination to win the Melbourne Cup. I think it deserves Wikipedia mention. Never been done before and will probably never be done again. if you don't beleive me check the 1893 results.

I am the great great grand son of the jockey.

oldest horse to race in melbourne cup.

I am not aware of any record of the age of ALL Melbourne Cup runners. The oldest winners were 8yo's Toryboy in 1865 and Catalogue in 1938. Cuddy Wifter (talk) 06:06, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
