There are 877 references on this page, my intention was always to transfer the player related references to the specific player page (if/when available), this would reduce the article size to below 300,000 bytes. DynamoDegsy (talk) 11:56, 22 December 2018 (UTC)

@DynamoDegsy: That's commendable but the vast majority of these entries won't have Wikipedia articles, so you would be lucky to reduce the article size by 50,000 by doing that. Would it be practical to remove the individual references altogether, or unnecessary columns? Otherwise a split might be possible but there's also a big risk of this article being deleted. Each individual is named in heritage number sequence order here and alphabetically by surname with statistics here, what we have lost is the mini-biographies from leighrl.co.uk, and the individual statistics at any other clubs they may have played for from rugbyleagueproject.org.
