Can we get something clear here, please. The article title is "List of Kapu dynasties": being tax collectors for a dynasty, or holding a fort somewhere, or being allegedly related in some way to another group - eg: the Chola dynasty - does not qualify for inclusion.
I also have doubts about trying to conflate Kapu with Balija etc. I accept that apparently some Balija in some areas now claim to be Kapus but that is most likely just the typical caste puffery that has gone on for a century or more. Unless a source specifically says that the dynasty was a Kapu dynasty, it should not be in this article. - Sitush (talk) 18:50, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
- I have removed Vijayanagara Empire from the list because that Featured Article makes no mention of this claim & the source + it authors have few hits at Google Scholar. I wonder if this is a WP:FRINGE issue? Can anyone find reliable sources to support that the empire was Kapu? And I do mean Kapu, not Balija etc. - Sitush (talk) 20:07, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
