Wolof : njam & nyam

Surprised that the Serer words njam (a right of passage among Serer girls - tatooing of the gum, see Ndut initiation rite) and nyam which means food or eat in Serer are all of a sudden Wolof words. Serer culture, mythology and religion has indeed influenced Senegambia and the Wolof are no exception. Many words found in Wolof originated from Serer, so this borrowing is understandable. But if its about the origin of words, sorry they are not Wolof. Tamsier (talk) 01:08, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Now be a good Brazilian "editor" and stop stalking me. Haven't you got any articles to write? Ooops! I forgot you don't write articles. I also saw the mess you have made in Roog (the Serer deity) just as you have done in Serer religion. If this continues I will report you again. I'm just too busy right now that's why I didn't bother, but I've seen what you've just done including trying to merge it with the Koox article even when shown they are different deities, worshipped by different sections of the Serer group. What did you try to gain? What are you trying to do? Can't you just write or edit articles in order to improve the project? The less time you spend stalking me (and trying to make a mess on Serer article) and concentrate on writing, the more productive your Wiki time. I am sure there are lots of things to write about Brazil, you only attempted one, and I emphasize the word "attempted", because you wrote a block of text practically based on a single source. Now it is up to you how you wish to spend your Wiki time, but please don't distract me from the project. When I come to Wiki, I am either writing, sourcing or cleaning up articles, be they Serer, Senegambian or African, not just in English but in French Wiki as well. How about you? What do you actually do? Never mind I'm not interested. Your passionate dislike of me (heaven knows why since I have never done anything you, indeed you were the one who went to the Serer religion talk page and practically accused me of stuff, someone you have never conversed with before, including insulting the Serer people and their culture, something you know nothing about) is eaten you away. This is my advise to you and I really hope you at least think about it. Time is a luxury. Think about how you spend your time on Wiki. There is no point holding a grudge against someone who really does not care what you think of him/her. Good luck! I completely forgot about this page, and I wish that were still the case. Tamsier, besides all these threats and accusations all I see are names of books about Serer subjects. I find it hard to believe that a Serer grammar or a book about traditional medicine would talk about words that were loaned into another language. Eladynnus (talk) 06:26, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
