Chronological order?

I noticed that someone organized the List of Jewish actors and actresses in chronological order. Would anyone mind if I did the same for this list? JackO'Lantern 21:29, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

I think it's better to go back to the alphabetical order. It's more clear and simple. It's an enciclopedia and the first criteria is the alphabetical one.--Doctor01 18:50, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

Well I think the chronology gives it a historical context, at least. You can see some of the earlier actors were immigrants, in the 20's-50's a lot were born in Brooklyn, etc. Maybe we should invite some kind of discussion on how to organize this page, and get input from other people. The frequently assumed to be, but not Italian

A section for the "frequently assumed to be Italian", but aren't, to prevent any mistakes:Mad Jack 06:00, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

• James Franco - Portuguese-Jewish
• Roma Maffia - Italian stepfather (hence the surname) - she is English/German/West Indian by ancestry
• Dylan and Cole Sprouse - born in Italy while their American parents were working in an English - language school there. Moved back to the US four months later. Not of Italian descent. Same situation for Amy Adams (actress) - born in Italy to American parents of non-Italian descent (her father was in the military)

Doesn't matter. They have dual citizenship (I saw you cancelled this note every time in their page Sprouse twins. Stop it thx. It's a fact not an opinion). Legally they are Italian American.--Doctor01 18:50, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

That's up for debate. Would anyone call Martin Lawrence a German-American? If the Sprouses were born four months later (in the US, that is), we wouldn't even be having this discussion. I haven't yet investigated the double citizenship claim, either, for all I know it isn't true. Mad Jack O'Lantern 18:56, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

• Robert Stack - Maternal grandfather, born Charles Wood, assumed the surname "Modini" and sang in the Italian opera, leading to misconceptions that Stack was actually of Italian descent. (he wasn't)

Ethnicity lists discussion

Just letting anyone watching this know - am trying something new with the organization of this page - since listing by "period of popularity" is so subjective, I'm re-organizing the list by birth date period (i.e. 1980s, 1950s). Seems like a logical when to give chronology to a long list, and less up for debate than by popularity period. Mad Jack O'Lantern 06:56, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Confirmed?

What do you mean they've been confirmed? The majority of the people just have distant Italian ancestry, and the reason they are here is pending a reliable source that actually described them as Italian-American. Mad Jack 07:03, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Many are children of famous people with known ethnic backgrounds, and many are either sourced or stated in interviews, personal websites, etc. Michael 07:11, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
