Talk:List of Indian states and union territories by poverty rate

Latest comment: 1 year ago by Mathglot in topic Persistent vandalism

Bihar rating was changed in a flash from being 24 to 28 in Sep 2015 on this page. Howcome? edit

According to the source below, poverty rate in Bihar is 30.6 % not 40.69% as depicted on this page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Bihar#Poverty.2C_income.2C_and_urbanization

Here is another source. In this source, Reserve Bank of India 2012 report highlights highest poverty statistic for each category in red. But, Bihar is not colored in red because it did not have the highest poverty rate in 2012 as depicted on this page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poverty_in_India

Also, this article states that this list was ranked according to Reserve Bank of India annual report published on September 2013. However, as per my observation until Sep 2015 Bihar still ranked 24 not 28 on this page also. A state rank by poverty cannot possibly go up or down in one day. By making a state purposefully the poorest, is to make it weak. A state can hence be forced to break up into unfairly smallest size etc. and hinder its ability to develop and grow. Others (with more advantage of national power) may be takeing undue advantage of it.

Another source that Bihar is not the poorest state in India:

Another source that shows Bihar Poverty rate, which is not the lowest as being shown in this article: http://www.realityviews.in/2014/06/list-names-of-indian-states-with.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 104.34.27.126 (talk) 03:48, 9 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

So, Bihar rank by poverty on this page should also be corrected?
