Regarding the merge, that I haven't gotten to yet... edit

I'd like to aplogize that I haven't worked on this page for several months. I really should have addressed this sooner. There seems to be some opposition Slidell-tigers (talk · contribs) about this merge, we recently started a conversation on my talkpage and I'm going to copy the contents here so this can be a public discussion:

You commented on the pages needing to be merged. If the pages were merged then the artical would be too long.

Then people won't beable to find what they're looking for because you have to take out some information.
Then there won't be any point in having information on any of the characters.Slidell-tigers (talk)
Actually, most the content of those individual character pages is plot sumary. Per WP:PLOT a short plot summary is appropriate, however all wikipedia subjects must be covered from a real world perspective, the articles cannot be dominated by in-universe detail. Also they do not satisfy Wikipedia's notability requirements that require independent pages to have a demonstration of the topic's notability through significant coverage in reliable independent sources. Because of this, policy requires these non-notable topics be merged to a larger more notable topic. So for both these reasons the content cannot stay as it is. --Kraftlos (Talk | Contrib) 03:59, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

I would just like to reiterate that Wikipedia is not a place for plot summaries. This is a widespread problem, many of our anime articles have accumulated extensive plot descriptions on character articles. These articles should have never been branched out to begin with, because they fail WP:N, the guiding principle which decides whether or not a topic can sustain its own article. As I said before, order to have a character article, the character must have received significant coverage in reliable independent sources, this must be demonstrated by verifiable references. The reason most these anime articles have individual characters placed on a character list, is because it is the general consensus that a list of characters is a valid subtopic of a main article about a series; thus satisfying WP:N because it is part of the larger topic.

So because these individual characters don't meet Wikipedia guidelines for having individual pages, I'm going to merge them. This is not a matter of ease of use (if the merge is performed correctly, this page should be just as easy to use), this is a matter of following policy. If you would like to contest the merge, I would need to see evidence that the character meets the requirements of WP:N. That's all. --Kraftlos (Talk | Contrib) 06:00, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Merge complete, some 10 months after it was proposed. These character articles were mostly Plot Summary, so nothing major should be missing. However, if you want to check my work, go ahead and look at the redirect's page history. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions! --Kraftlos (Talk | Contrib) 11:24, 27 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Character guidelines edit

As I was saying before about the merging thing.Currenly I'm reading the GetBackers manga and writing a review of it for my class. In the manga there's sertent information about a character that I don't under stand.Like when I read other manga someone merged the pages. When the pages got merged I counldn't find what was the character's purpose was and et cetera if you know where I'm going. I've noticed that when some pages seperate character pages get merged the information about when they appear and birth info disappears. I just wanted to point that out because I tried other sites for different anime and manga information but its not as informative as wikipedia.Slidell-tigers (talk)

Just a quick note before address your comment, please stop placing : and ::'s into your text, those are indents used to separate comments on a talkpage, using them within a single comment is not necessary. (and please try not to include my signature in your message)
With regard to merging, the details like birth information is not usually relevant to the coverage of the subject. Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information; list of character abilities, stats like birth day, blood type, height, weight are inuniverse details, while Wikipedia is supposed to treat these subject from a real world perspective, for example reception, impact, and significance. So what you are asking for is not always possible because it can be contrary to Wikipedia's stated purpose and content guidelines. --Kraftlos (Talk | Contrib) 03:46, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Organization edit

I have noticed that the entire article has been organized by in-universe affiliation. It might not be apparent from the current state of these articles, but Wikipedia strives to cover topics primarly from a real world perspective. Using Featured list List of Naruto characters as an example, I propose the following structure change:

List of Getbackers characters edit

1. Protagonists

  • Ban Mido
  • Ginji Amano
  • ....

2. Antagonists

  • MakubeX
  • ....

3. Other characters

  • ....

This structure will provide us with a proper framework to address the characters in a real-world frame. There are some minor character who I don't think are necessary to average reader's understanding of Getbackers; I also think that there are several groupings of minor characters that could be summarized under a common heading. With these changes, this page should clean up nicely. Questions? Comments? Objections? --Kraftlos (Talk | Contrib) 08:59, 12 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Seems okay. I'm not familiar with the series, but given the number (even if you weed out a few) another section for "Major Allies" might also be appropriate.じんない 21:45, 19 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Looks good...if necessary split Other into "Supporting" and "Minor" if some are relatively "minor" but still important to understanding the series. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 23:59, 19 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Would I reserve protagonist for the main characters and use major allies for the other protagonists? Should I cut the other category? --Kraftlos (Talk | Contrib) 04:59, 20 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Organization edit

I was trying to think of a better way to list this, but this is the best I could come up with. Next to the name add Protagonist, Antagonist, Other character, or delete. Alternatively if you think a group of characters should be merged into a single section, you can indicate that too. --Kraftlos (Talk | Contrib) 04:33, 2 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've made some adjustments and have mostly reorganized the article as detailed above. I'm considering removing the groups section entirely, but am currently holding several sections there pending a complete re-write. As demonstrated in the article, some groups seem to be better covered as a single entity rather than listing each individual character. And several deletions were made of characters that truly added nothing to our understanding of Getbackers. An exhaustive list can probably found on a Wikia site or this page's history. --Kraftlos (Talk | Contrib) 06:33, 20 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Picture edit

I'm looking for a good group screenshot or promo picture that would show as many characters as possible, to go on the top of the article. Anyone have any suggestions? --Kraftlos (Talk | Contrib) 09:16, 12 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Toshiki Uryuu, Teshimine. edit

Can't find them on the list. One is Kadzuki's 2ed bodyguard as of volume 18 & the other was Gingi's serrogate father or something.

Also, the spelling for Kadzuki's name uses the Du/Dzu rather than the Zu, so Kazuki is incorrect. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.17.118.100 (talk) 12:13, 28 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
