Season 5 or 4?

http://www.tv.com/family-guy/show/348/episode_listings.html&season=4 Lists what we have as season 5 as part of season 4. I know the dispute... How should we handle it though? Benpsycho 07:55, 25 September 2005 (UTC)

FOX said "Peter's Got Woods" started "the new season of Family Guy." So the next few episodes, even though they will have production codes starting with 4ACX, will be considered by FOX to be season 5, just as the first few season 3 episodes have prod. codes 2ACX. (Also, I speculate that seasons 4 and 5 will come out together in one DVD boxed set, "Volume 3: Seasons 4 and 5.") Cromulent Kwyjibo 17:03, 26 September 2005 (UTC)
Actually, it looks like Season 4 is coming out on a boxed set by itself. ShutterBugTrekker 22:05, 29 September 2005 (UTC)

"To Live and Die in Dixie" or "To Love and Die in Dixie"?

What's the correct title of the episode in which the Griffins are placed on witness protection and relocated to the Deep South? Robert Happelberg 18:44, 16 August 2005 (UTC)

"Love" is probably correct, but I've seen "Live" often enough that it might merit a redirect if nothing else. Cromulent Kwyjibo 19:44, 18 August 2005 (UTC)

On the Region 2 DVD release I have it is "To Live and Die in Dixie", However it is "Love" at FamilyGuy.com. The wiki article is currently "live" also so im going to point the list there. If i get the chance I will try to find out if one of these titles is a spelling mistake or if its an alternate title. Discordance 00:24, 15 January 2006 (UTC

Wrong Episode Titles

there were two episode titles in here that were wrong according to Director Greg Colton, he says that there are no episodes with the titles "Hello Copperhead" or "Brian Sings and Swings"

Can you provide a reference (URL, magazine title month and page, etc.)? Robert Happelberg 22:41, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
http://damnyouall.net/forum/index.php?topic=16145.msg432415#msg432415 he goes by the Username 'Rare Hero', he also gave a few episode titles that were not on the list.
Is there any way to confirm that "Rare Hero" is Greg Colton without having to log in to damnyouall.net? Cromulent Kwyjibo 22:47, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
You will have to log in to send him a personal message for confirmation yes, butI am a moderator there as well, and running a WhoIs on his IP reveals that the IP is registered to 20th Century FOX. So It is legitimate. My Username there is Fish if you need confirmation on that as well. He has Talked in depth about the Two Episodes that he has Directed so far, "8 Simple Rules...", and "Brian Goes Back to College". and recently talked about missing material on the commentary for the "8 simple Rules..." episode. He's Really Greg Colton. RadioFish
Speaking just for myself, that's too much work. I'll take your word for it. In any case, there doesn't seem to be any evidence for "Hello Copperhead," but "Brian Sings and Swings" is listed at tvguide.com [1] with an expected airdate of Dec. 15. But it's not listed at familyguy.com. Cromulent Kwyjibo 21:56, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
Oops my bad, yeah, "Brian Sings and Swings" IS an episode, I meant "The Land Before Brian", that one isnt an actual Episode title, sorry about that. RadioFish

Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story!

Surely Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story! and the three episodes it combines warrants a mention here? - Wezzo 18:08, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

More on season 5/4b debate

The only people calling any currently aired episodes Season 5 are pirate release groups, mainly because it returned from its hiatus about the same time as other new TV shows started a new season -- except unlike those shows, Family Guy had premiered early.

- Unlike the first two volumes, the Volume 3 box set itself does not say anywhere it is season 4, just "new episodes". - The press release for Volume 3 says "The first 13 episodes of Season 4". - Familyguy.com says Season 4 runs to 2006. - Even if you believed the pirate release groups, they'd be wrong -- Volume 3, according to them, goes up to episode 503. Evilgrug 11:16, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

You can argue that season 5 started with either "Peter's Got Woods" or "PTV", but the upcoming Region 2 DVD release is called "Season Four" to go with our separate seasons 1-3 releases, and that is meant to include 21 episodes: everything shown in 2005 and January 2006, plus "Peter's Done It!". Fox must have decided that those episodes make up season 4. Jimbow25 21:24, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

New episode title announced

For season 6 (production season 5) The episode is titled "Barely Legal" (show number 3 of the 5th season)

This information can be confirmed on the offical family guy website under the blog section as one of the writers was sharing information. So can someone add this to the list of episodes...thanks

here is the link for verification http://64.70.52.115/blog/archives/2005/12/fullfilling_a_r.html#comments

It looks like familyguy.com, but when I try changing the IP address to "familyguy.com" or "www.familyguy.com," I get a 404 message. Cromulent Kwyjibo 21:28, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, its legit. It is the official Family Guy Writers and Directors Blog.--Fish 20:44, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Peter's Done It!

I dont know where you guys got the air date for "Peter's done it!", but its definitly not January 22nd, as that is the date the NFC Championship is airing. also, there are no new episodes in February. "Peter's Done It!" will most likely air in March.--Fish 20:40, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Agreed. According to the official homepage there won't be any new eps til the 29th. Peter's Done It! will not air on the 22nd. --Callisto 02:20, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
Well, according to Directior Greg Colton, there is no such episode with the title "Peter's Done It"
its evidently called "Sibling Rivalry"--Fish 00:52, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

Overview lengths

The overviews in season 4 and 5 are too long, if someone can shorten them please, I havn't seen those episodes yet so I can't do it myself Discordance 03:15, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

Season 4B or Season 5?

Someone previously mentioned Fox considers the new season to be season 5, why is it being called season 4B here? This page is listing broadcast seasons from FOX I don't see why there is any reason to call the new season 4B. I havn't fully checked this out so if anyone can give a reason or a source then ok Discordance 01:15, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

If you look at familyguy.com -> About The Show -> Episode Guide, you'll notice that Season 4 is identified as "2005-2006: 19 episodes" beginning with "North by North Quahog" and ending with "Brian Swings and Sings" (as of today). But if you look at the Volume 3 DVD release, you won't find any mention of "Season 4" anywhere on the box. Biting the hand that feeds you is allowed only when it's funny, so understandably Seth MacFarlane doesn't want to contradict FOX on what could be perceived as a minor detail. ShutterBugTrekker 22:38, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

I understand that its still part of the season 4 production schedule and that FOX is to blame for its incredibly poor decisions but aside from that should we not call it season 5? Its already noted in the lede that it's still part of the season 4 production schedule. Unless this list is reorganised to list production seasons rather than broadcast seasons I think season 5 is a more suitable name. Discordance 00:33, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

Sorry i was wrong it should be season 4B altho someones merged the seasons now which is perhaps a better solution Discordance 00:50, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

Wrong Upcoming Episode Titles

It has been confirmed there is no such episode titled Peters Done It.

The next few confirmed new episodes are "Sibling Rivalry", "I Take Thee Quagmire", "Deep Throats", "Peterotica", and "You May Now Kiss....the Guy Who Receives"

This has been confirmed by one of the directors of Family Guy, so someone should take down the Peter's Done It title from the episode list

Verification: http://damnyouall.net/forum/index.php?topic=16955.msg473066#msg473066

I checked familyguy.com Sibling rivalry airs on feb 26th, I take thee quagmire on march 12th. Any further edit warring on these episodes will be considered vandalism. Discordance 21:10, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

You've said there is no episode called "Peter's Done It", however it is listed as coming up in March on TV.com, with a synopsis, and is even on the list of episodes included on the upcoming season 4 DVD, on play.com. So is it real, or a big fat phoney? Jimbow25 21:33, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

I have no idea the comment above mine is from an anon, I'd leave it off the list until its seen on familyguy.com or in the dvd release. Fish above also seems to agree its a fake. Discordance 21:58, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, it is a phony title. Director Greg Colton has said that there is NO episode with that title, TV.com and play.com are wrong.--Fish 12:19, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
Also, Im not too sure about "Sibling rivalry" airing on the 26th. the banner still says March 12th, and the futon critic doesnt say there is a new Family guy on the 26th, when it has a new American Dad on that date. Im thinking that the fellas at familyguy.com accidently put it on Feb 26th and meant to put it on March 26. I could be wrong though--Fish 12:29, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Sounds reasonable, it wont be on the fox.com timetable for another two weeks to confirm, change it to march 26th till then if you like. Discordance 14:35, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Looking again familguy.com lists two episodes of family guy to show on february 26th both at 9pm on fox... so yeah probably totally wrong. Discordance 03:13, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

Now that TVguide.com has updated, it shows that infact it is a repeat episode on the 26th of February.--Fish 03:06, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
I changed it to March 26th on Monday, but I see that 67.34.214.229 reverted it back to February. But then I see it has been changed back to March now. I highly trust The Futon Critic and TVguide, and both of them have "Brian Goes Back to College" on Feb 26th. Also, I highly doubt that the description of that episode is correct.--Fish 04:51, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

Edit warring

what is going on with this page its just been slowly reverted by patesta over the past few hours to an older version and back again. will people please discuss things on the talk page especially patesta and the anon ip 24.??.??.?? your edits are disrupting this page to the point im going to have to seek admin intervention if it carries on. Discordance 01:30, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

Patesta feels it should be reverted, although it just makes the issue more confusing. Instead there should be a reference note or somethign describing the gap between a few of the episodes. Also the 4a and 4b thing becomes confusing when there are 3 episodes of 4b on the volume 3 dvd which includes of all the supposed 4a. So basically it should just be left as is, and patesta should stop trying to revert it and confuse people

Also patesta is unaware of some of the newer information that has recently been released, but once he is aware hopefully he will stop reverting to an older form

please sign your comments with ~~~~, G11. In regards to what episode belongs to which season we are using the guide on familyguy.com the region 1 dvd releases are slightly odd with episode placement, and yes there is a note at the top of the page talking about the gap. Patesta should not be reverting this page especially not without discussing it here. There is a rule on wikipedia called the Three revert rule which you have both violated, I am reporting patesta and he will be blocked for 24 hours, however you are not supposed to break that rule even in restoring the page, I will mention I consider Patestas reverts far more disruptive than your efforts to restore the page however an admin may decide to block you for 24 hours as well. Don't take it personally either of you its just a warning but if you continue reverting without discussion patesta there will be more blocks from editing. Discordance 01:53, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

Another 5th Season episode Title

This one is called " Road to Rupert" and is another one in the series of roadtrips involving stewie and brian such as road to rhode island and Road to Europe.

The source is on the latest family guy blog blog.familyguy.com where one of the directors describe the work progressing on this episode. 66.243.130.10 09:49, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

the blog that details this starts in the entry on Jan 24 67.184.154.139 18:47, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

What will be on Volume 4?

I'm a little confused right now about which episodes will be on Volume 4 of Family Guy. Will it be the remainder of the season 4 episodes? Will it be those episodes with the 3 episodes from the movie? Or will it be only 10 episodes with the 3 from the movie? Or just some of the episodes from season 4? Is there a list? Patesta 15:54, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

I don't think the movie will be in volume 4 as its for sale seperately, it will probably be all the remaining season 4 episodes. I know that here in the UK our releases are done by season and we will be getting all of season 4 on dvd before its aired over here. Discordance 03:08, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Or perhaps not I havnt found a list yet but from what im reading volume 4 will have 13 episodes, and uk season 4 will only have 21. Discordance 03:14, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

It was mentioned on one of the message boards from a director that the remaining episodes of season 4 would fill out the volume 4 dvd. However, it was noted that not all 35 4th season production episodes are going to air in season 4 and that some would be holdovers for the 5th season this fall, so whatever episodes air this spring will be included on the 4th volume. So out of a max of 22 episodes possible for the volume 4 set it is estimated to be around 18 episodes that will be included.

As of now its still planned to air the 3 episodes that make up the movie. They will be slightly altered from their movie versions to make them their own independent episodes and some jokes too raunchy for tv will be edited with different jokes hopefully making the episodes different from their movie forms. 66.243.130.10 04:42, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Sibling Rivalry - I Take thee Quagmire

Ok, this needs to stop. Sibling Rivalry is NOT airing on February 26th, Patesta just reverted those episodes around, and did not talk about it or check here before. he has been blocked from doing this before, I getting sick and tired of coming back here and having the page being messed up. --Fish 06:27, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Want some more proof? Here is a link to a picture of the schedule on tvguide.com http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/8594/epsched6we.png , Here is the episode schedule for Family Guy at the futon critic http://www.thefutoncritic.com/cgi/showatch.cgi?id=family_guy&view=listings --Fish 06:50, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

Sorry fish patesta in the past was insisting that it aired march 26th another user changed it to feb 26th and i agreed after looking at familyguy.com so ive added to the confusion. As i said further up the page though i now agree february 26th is the wrong date and it should be changed. Discordance 14:15, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

Regarding what episode is next and its airdate.... dan povenmire wrote "All right, here's the schedule as it stands now: We are off all through the Olympics and then we come back with new eps on March 12th with "I Take Thee Quagmire." Then March 26th "Sibling Rivalry."67.184.154.139

Yep, Just saw that. Finally something official.--Fish 02:38, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

Sorry for any revertion, I was following familyguy.com, and now I see as well that Feb 26 is wrong for the date. once again, sorry for confusion. Patesta 12:09, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

Season 1

I am sitting here with a family guy box set for season 1 I'm not sure if anyone has noticed but there are 14 episodes not 7.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.7.243.203 (talkcontribs) 10:06, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

The box sets differ from region to region, im guessing youve got a region 2 set? Rather than sell 7 episodes they filled out the set by putting 14 of the 15 episodes of production season 1 in. The ones that begin 1ACX** in the production code column. The list looks the way it does because both official episode guides, the online one at familyguy.com and the printed guide use the broadcast order which has only 7 episodes in season 1. Discordance 17:28, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

On one of the commentaries Seth MacFarlane says something about the episode Love thy trophy being the 13th episode of the 1st season, so i think the 1st comment is correct.

New Episode Descriptions

Incase people were wondering they are from http://www.thefutoncritic.com/cgi/showatch.cgi?id=family_guy&view=listings67.184.160.211 01:24, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks thats great. Although we shouldnt be word for word copying press releases. I know its hard to rewrite especially wihout having seen the episode but please be careful to avoid copyright violations. Discordance 01:46, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

Please log in if you can G11. I know things got out of hand in the past but you make good edits and its fairly clear from your ip address its you. I wonder if patestas around here too he was right about the dates in the end its ashame he didnt make his sources clearer. Discordance 02:24, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

Airdates of Untold Story Eps

Where did these airdates come from? I see that The Futon Critic still says Quarter 2 of 06. But, I haven't seen any airdates confirmed. I dont think any of us want to see another revert war based on speculated airdates.--Fish 02:06, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

Im not sure but it was possibly Patesta who added the dates anonomously (same IP 24. who was making similiar anon edits to him in the past). He was it turned out, right about the disputed dates in the past I was going by the erroneous familyguy.com so please Patesta share your sources and log in. Discordance 02:32, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

Im guessing the dates are probably correct for the 3 movie episodes. As they were slated to air as part of season 4 this spring and there isnt many other weekends available for them to air. hopefully whoever posted it will identify their sources, but it seems probable. Hopefully thefutoncritic will update soon enough ending any speculation. Sorry about not being logged in before, for some reason i was logged out...G11 05:11, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I do go by a mix of sources. TV.com is a big one for me, as is planet-familyguy and i will occasionally use familyguy.com as well. But, unfortuantely, I did not add these dates. I realize thats probably a first because I do change a lot of things, but I have decided to just start leaving things be here after trying to fix some things and getting in trouble because I kept reverting back to a version most thought was wrong and turned out to be partially incorrect. Anyway, no idea where these dates came from, but it seems they are quite probable as the dates, but may not be correct and probably shouldnt be there as of the current. Patesta 05:46, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

Well everyone seems agreed that they are probably correct but we have no sources, in this case it may be best to remove them until a source turns up or change them to expected May with no day specified. However they do seem reasonable especially if the futon critic is listing them as Q2 and the table does say "expected". I dont want to do anything without everyones agreement so ill leave them alone. Discordance 18:51, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

Episode Numbers

Im not sure if wikipedia has a policy against it, but is it possible, and would people want the episodes to be numbered with an overall count. This way its easy to reference what the landmark episodes are such as 50 or 100... If it can be done it could either go before the screenshot, or in a new category after production number...G11 08:44, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

I've been meaning to do this for ages, as youve asked its done. Discordance 16:56, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

DVD releases

Either the lead or the spaces in the custom TOC need to talk about the quite major differences between the box sets. I'm not sure what they are exactly at the moment so i've not put anything. Discordance 22:39, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Maybe you can just add a space under the region 1 and region 2 release date for volume 3, and include a space for the release dates for volume 4...although not sure where that image would fit exactlyG11 07:00, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

Wouldn't it be better to put DVD information either on the Family Guy page or its own page? This is meant to just be a list of episodes, the top of the page looks very cluttered with all the DVD release dates and artwork thumbnails IMO. I'm not particularly keen on having the Larry shorts there either, they could be linked to a separate page under "see also", as the Simpsons have done with the Ullman shorts- if they're not worth including under List of The Simpsons episodes, I don't think 2 shorts that were a stepping stone to the creation of Family Guy, one of which wasn't broadcast AFAIK, should be on this page Jimbow25 01:31, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

Theres no reason the shorts shouldn't be here they currently dont have their own article proper and you can't make a seperate list out of two, this is the only place currently the info on both is grouped together and even if it wasn't i still think they belong here, the only reason List of Simpsons episodes doesnt have the shorts there is because another editor moved them to a seperate page because List of Simpsons episodes is far too big and I created List of Simpsons media which includes everything simpson related including summaries of the short's seasons and serie's seasons. Discordance 07:14, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

Of course there's a good reason not to include the shorts in this list: They're not Family Guy. The Larry shorts now have their own page which is linked from this one so I there's no need for them to be listed with regular 30 minute broadcast episodes of FG. Jimbow25 19:09, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

There is a more in depth page on DVD releases I've added it to the see also section, I still hold that showing which DVDs relate to which season is relevant in the season summary. Discordance 13:04, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

Talk header

I've added the standard Talk header to this page...people seem to be posting at the top and bottom of the page so hopefully this will encourage people to post at the bottom, and sign their comments. One post was above the contents box and looked untidy, I've moved it to roughly where it would have appeared when it was posted.Jimbow25 17:32, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

In a semi-related note, I've archived a bit of this page, and placed a link to the archive just below the talk header. --lightdarkness (talk) 02:07, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Featured List

Would anyone active in editing this page like to submit this list to be a Featured list? A similar Featured List (List of South Park episodes) is featured, and I think the family guy episode list also meets the criteria for a featured list. Would anyone have any objections to submitting it? --lightdarkness (talk) 02:00, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

The images all need to be checked for fair use first. This takes awhile all the images need to have their source listed, they need to illustrate the main plot element or character (season 4 is the best at this so far only 3 images or less need changing), and they need a fair use rationale written explaining that. The hardest part is finding a consistent source with relevant images. I have the DVDs so I'll probably start screenshotting from them. Discordance 07:43, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

I have a capture card, so I can get screengrabs from all the new episodes, and we can list them as fair use using {{Tv-screenshot}}. As for the others, I too have all the DVD's, and can go through the ones that need changing. Just let me know and I'll get to work. --lightdarkness (talk) 01:48, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

Looking over season 4 again, only PTV and north by north quahog need changing, the rest all do illustrate the main plot but it can be handy if all the images come from the same source in the same quality and size and there might be better representations of the plot. Season 3 has about 5 or so episodes with gags shown rather than the main plot. Familyguy files might have suitable images ill have a look, if not ill making a list of what needs to be done. Road to Rupert

This is a list of titles I found on many sites all over the Internet that have yet to air. Many are confirmed and with air dates. Some are not confirmed but seem valid while others appear to be obvious fake titles. Also there seems to be some holes in the production codes such as no confirmed or even rumored title for 4ACX33 and many of these titles sharing the same production code. Can anyone verify any of these or fill in the production code holes? Is there even an episode for 4ACX33? Generalleoff 23:22, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

I saw people checkign the copyright thing and i confirmed the episodes found as well as posted other ones i found there on the main episodes list page. http://familyguy.wikicities.com/wiki/Episode_Guide. This wikicities site lists some of these episodes. If I had to take a wild guess I would say some of these titles are proly confused with future American Dad episodes (Underground and Bollocks). Generalleoff 00:25, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

I used the site G11 linked to and came up with the following American Dad titles for 2AJN.

2AJN01 Roger 'n me, 2AJN05 The American dad after school special, 2AJN06 Camp Refoogee, 2AJN07 Failure is not a factory-installed option, 2AJN08 Dungeons and Wagons, 2AJN09 Iced, iced babies : Sperm limits

This list seems to clear up Family Guy episode 4ACX31 Dungeons & Griffons. Couldn't find Underground or Bollocks but now I'm pretty sure they are going to be AD episodes. Thanks to G11 it seems only 4ACX30 is now unconfirmed from the 35 FG episodes of 4ACX. Generalleoff 01:36, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

hopefully it will help clear up future confusion as well as season 5 episodes begin to get copyrighted G11 03:15, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

Fantastic! I'll reduce resolution to allow for it's fair use, and will add it to the article. --lightdarkness (talk) 03:55, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
I overwrited the image you uploaded to wikipedia, as it didn't fall under fair use (it was too high of a resolution). I've added it to the article aswell, hope you don't mind! --lightdarkness (talk) 04:00, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

Beltram or Bertram?

This is proly unanswerable until this Sunday (04/26/2006) when 4ACX23 "Sibling Rivalry" airs. It appears that Beltram is the same character from 3ACX01 "Emission Impossible" but the plot summary for 3ACX01 spells the name Bertram, while 4ACX23 spells it Baltram. Are they different characters? Is one of the names spelled wrong? What name is correct? Generalleoff 06:14, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

its Bertram, and he is voiced by Wallace Shawn. you can reference the official family guy episode guide as well as reading the previews for this weeks and emission impossibles episodesGrande13 22:25, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

ok I made the correction. Generalleoff 01:16, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
