Welcome to this article! Another year, another page for new Emmerdale characters! I am sure that this year in the show will be just as exciting as the last. As I have alluded to in the title I have given the article, and in the article's introduction and brief explanation in the first edit summary, I have created this Wiki page to be explicitly for ALL Emmerdale characters (albeit those with some significance as I also alluded to in the intro, eg we should avoid adding an un-named policeman who only appears in one or two side-by-side episodes) that will be introduced this year; The 2012 page included all new characters, some were minor but others werent and so this title reflects that process of just adding every new character who comes in (as has been done in recent years, but with the pages still containing the 'minor'). Format

So, following my creation of this article, JuneGloom07 has put in a table containing the first character of the year; thank-you. The table is the same as the one used in previous year articles for 'Other' characters i.e. the most minor ones introduced. But since nobody can ever know how big a new character is going to ultimately be -except the producer- then I think it would be fairer and tidier (as well as easier, eliminating the need for any future editing-no characters will ever have to be moved about) to just have all characters introduced this year in the one table, by order of appearance, with more text in the table for those entries that warrant it, and as I mentioned above a link to a main article for any who may warrant that. The styles used for these lists did not just magically appear and everyone started using them - they were discussed and the best layout was chosen - more than one person decided upon it.Rain the 1 00:47, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
