Maron confused with Bulma?

Under the section for Maron (kuririn's GF, filler character) it says that "She looks similar to Bulma and many people confuse the two" this is BS. i don't see any similarities other than them both being female anime characters drawn by (or in the style of) Akira Toriyama, i can think of about a million differences, the least of them being the fact that they both have completely different hair color. and i've never talked to anyone who confused the two characters. i'm taking that sentence out, cuz it's just retarded.68.255.174.7 16:02, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Completely different hair colors? Perhaps if you compare Maron's to Bulma's manga hair color. But in the anime it's the exact same teal shade. And the face is almost exactly the same as well. The easiest way to tell them apart with a quick glance is chest size. >>

I'm sorry but anyone to ignorant to notice the difference obviously hasn't read the manga our seen the show. I would definitly believe you made this accusation because I know no one who makes such remarks like this. Unless you're new to the series (and you probably are if you've been living under a rock for the past 25 years) then you might be confused for a short time. I'm sure people would catch on when Bulma is talking to someone and then the clip switches to Maron somewhere completely different.[[User:SxeFluff|--SxeFluff 05:05, 14 October 2007 (UTC)]] 00:09, 15 October 2007

I thought she was Bulma at first too (hair color and all), but I managed to get them straight because the voices were different. Either way, I don't think people confusing them is worth mentioning.Tsochar (talk) 01:07, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Red Ribbon Army

Why did the Red Ribbon Army section get to drastically reduced?? Come on, they were the villains for an entire saga (Most notably Commander Red and General Blue), there isn't even a little profile of the most prominent members!!! (and I remember that those profiles/biographies USED TO BE in this article previously). Can someone answer my question?? --DrMauroFrenchman 21:35, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Inconsistencies

This article refers too often to different names of the same characters, even in the same sentence, changing spellings and choosing between manga and anime versions. This reads as unprofessional, and to many, confusing. Can we have some sort of consensus as to which names to stick to and adjust this and other articles accordingly? Hatchan or Eight? Murasaki or Purple? Shenron or Shenlong? --Vincentvivi 20:04, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

The english language names of these characters should be the only ones used, since this is English wikipedia. Casey14 20:47, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
IMHO the japanese names should be used consistently throughout the article and the english names should be used once @ the beginning of each characters description like this: Namu (FUNimation dub: Nam).68.255.174.7 16:02, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
I have to agree with Casey. This is the english Wikipedia site and the chatacters have names in english. Names those who've not seen (or don't care about) the Japanese version would know significantly better. Personal prefrence shouldn't have any bearing on this, just language. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.133.242.92 (talk) 08:53, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

grandpa gohan ???

How come grand par gohan was never seen in dragonball z after goku died you’d think he would visit his own grandfather now dose any one have any suggestions

Also why don’t gramps have his own article he was a pretty tough geezer and easily beat goku into the ground during there fight at baba's User:Kami-Sama

There are several possible reasons for Gohan disappearance:
A) He was dead before the series chronologically began. Not likely to be a principle hero later on.
B) Toriyama has a habit of forgetting characters. Oolong, originally a primary cast member, was relegated to comedic cameos. Lunch faded away. Even most of the human Z Senshi were relegated to third tier.
C) Gohan may still be working for Baba. He's dead, so probably limited to roaming her compound.
D) During the late Buu Saga, we are given a glimpse of Heaven. We also learn that souls are sometimes reincarnated, as with Uub. It is possible that Gohan is either enjoying his afterlife or was simply reincarnated.
E) Goku has never paid much attention to social graces. After the Cell Game, he preferred to stay in Anoyo and train rather than be resurrected and live with his family. At the end of Z, Bulma chews him out for not staying in touch. He's always been more concerned with fighting than anything else. (It's a wonder he was able to focus long enough to sire children.) Do you really think Goku would do out of his way to visit some poor old fart?
Son Goharotto 16:27, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
"C) Gohan may still be working for Baba. He's dead, so probably limited to roaming her compound." not possible. that was the one day he was allowed to return to planet earth. he went back to heaven @ the end of that episode.68.255.174.7 16:05, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
If you go by the anime he's working for Annin at the end of Dragonball, and could presumably stay there. (Was it just me or did he have a thing for her?) As for the reincarnation thing, I've seen quite a bit of fan speculation (obviously holds no real weight as it's just fan speculation and nothing official) that Grandpa Gohan was reincarnated into Gohan, hence why Gohan liked his name so much as a baby. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.133.242.92 (talk) 08:57, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Bulma's Mother

There's a line in the part for Bulma's Mother which reads "Her first name is unknown, but according to most people her name is Bunny." I found this very unprofessional, and lacking sources, so I searched on google to see if it had any truth to it. I found a number of lines exactly the same as the one on wikipedia in other online encyclopedias. Then I looked further and found that apparently it's just a fanfic-made name. I'm making changes to the article to reflect this. Gregorz 17:41, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

You're being too kind; a fanfic name isn't even worth noting. She should be either referred to as "Bulma's Mother" like she is in the show's credits, or as Toriyama's unused name "Panchii". Evan1975 07:29, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

General Copper/Brown

Why does he keep getting deleted from the Red Ribbon section? Thanos6 17:04, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Because a fellow Wikipedian named Nemu doesn't approve of this person's existence. If I recall, there was a General Kappa ("Copper") who commanded Colonel Silver in the beginning, and lead Captain Yellow and finally Violet in both the Dragon Ball manga and anime respectively. I replaced this character on the list and I shall watch who is the next one to remove it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Power level (Dragon Ball) (talkcontribs)

Actually Copper isn't Brown - Brown is another officer we know absolutely nothing about. Heck, he doesn't even have a rank, but he was mentioned in both the anime and the manga. Makes me wonder how many other officers didn't get a chance to show up. Eat Snow 01:36, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Oops! I'm the one who added that recent bit. (My browser is being a pain with cookies and I didn't notice I wasn't signed in.) Evidence for the correction was included. Lime's Caretaker

"Lime's Caretaker" - Son Goku knows this guy, (I beleive his name is Lao actually) so he must be a Dragon Ball character. anybody have any ideas on this?

Chaozu's humanity

I'm having serious doubt as to Chiaotzu being a human. He's classified as a Kyonshi ("Young Vampire") from what I remember about the japanese version. The vampire dolls in japanese culture have similar characteristic traits. I seriously don't think Chiaotzu is human. - Zarbon

Tenshinhan has 3 eyes, Krillin has no nose and Bulma has natural blue hair (purple in the manga), even though they are considered humans. Muchi 21:43, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
He does indeed look like a Kyonshi and he doesn't seem to age either. But the similarities seem to end there. He is never referred to as a Kyonshi in the Japanese version as far as I know. Evan1975 07:13, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

There is one happening where it is shown in a Dragonball movie(Not Z) that Chaozu's in fact not human. Never watched the whole movie though, so I can't provide a refrence. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.55.218.208 (talk) 00:53, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Chiaotzu is classified as Kyonshi, so won't that group "him" as a mystical creature? Also, Tenshinhan has obviously survived Buu's "Human Extermination Attack", besides from Mr. Satan, who Buu may have deliberately left alive, Tenshinhan seem to be the only one left who is neither mystical creature or alien. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 150.216.217.239 (talk) 17:52, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Advisor Black's race

"Advisor Black is Commander Red's servant and the number two man in the entire Red Ribbon Army. He is of African-American origin". Is there any source to suport that Advisor Black was of American descent?

Advisor Black is black. There is no Africa or America in Dragon World, so he can't be African-American. He's a black guy and his name is "Black." That's the pun as Toriyama wrote it.
You have to understand that Japan is 99.9% ethnically homogenous. In their country, most non-Japanese are either Chinese or Korean; other Asians. The average Japanese person has little-to-no interaction with whites or blacks, Caucasians or Negroids, whatever you want to call them. They have some glaring racial stereotypes, by Western standards, and this is reflected in their media. Mr. Popo, for example, is stereotypically black, with midnight dark skin and thick red lips. You used to see that sort of thing in political cartoons during America's early history. That doesn't necessarily make Toriyama a racist.
However, I'll wager that this article was compiled predominantly by Americans, or at the least, English-speaking Caucasians. By comparison, we are socially wired to be politically correct. We're taught that saying "black" is insensitive, that we should acknowledge and honor another person's ethnic background. So while technically incorrect to say that Advisor Black is African-American, it's not necessarily 'wrong'. Whether that can or should be corrected is up to Wikipedia standards.Son Goharotto 16:27, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

African-American has a very specific meaning. Like you mention, there is no Africa or America in the series. Even if there was, there is no reason to infer that Advisor Black would have been from the United States. Hence it's wrong to say he's African American.Juanmejgom 18:26, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Commander Red

If you do happen to create a page for him, I'll look at it, but I would like to see the Red Ribbon Army have its own page again. I don't know why it was deleted - they were a big part of Dragonball, and they never died. In Dragonball the army's headquarters was decimated, but a lot of soldiers survived, and even some officers did (most, like Yellow and Silver, were unconfirmed). In DBZ Gero brought the RRA back in the form of androids and cyborgs, and in DBGT there was Super 17. I remember there being a little blurb about the RRA's technology, too. Eat Snow 03:57, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

He looks hilarious in the bottom pic. I say, have the bottom image stay. Also, make sure you place collands (:) right after the first two brackets of the wiki-linked images, k? This is so because "fair use" images aren't allowed to be shown on user pages or article talk pages. Don't ask me why, it's just something I've been told many times in the past. While Android 17 and 18 are cybernetic and belong on this list, Androids 13, 14, 15, and 16 are all completely mechanical and should not be considered "Earthlings" —The preceding comment is by 66.142.239.33 (talkcontribs) 66.142.239.33: Please sign your posts!

Wrong

Son Gohan, Son Goten and Trunks are Earthlings (born in Earth), many times mentioned in the series as such and indeed genetically only 50% "foreign". --Taraborn 00:08, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

True they are Earthlings but do to them, Pan, Bra, Bulma's desendent, Vegeta jr, and Goku jr being part Saiyan too, they are added to the Saiyan list page. So having them on two lists of races does not really need to happen. Heat P 01:37, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Who keeps changing the article?

Come on, All I ask is for these characters to be split and someone objects without even talking about it. The Dragon Ball characters articles are too small! This is absurd. Why shouldn't Videl have her own article. To top things off, my Commander Red article has been merged simply because he's a main villain from Dragon Ball. It's only because all the character I'm suggesting to be split are not powerful Z Fighters or fierce villains from the DBZ anime. Please think this through. Uglyguy2006

Look at the talk page of this, and check through the past discussions. There was a large merge discussion, so they're not coming back. TTN 10:57, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

I see your point. However, if characters that appear in movies (i.e. Broly, Coola etc.) recieve their own articles and characters such as Karin and Chichi don't then there's a problem. Not to mention that Bulma and Muten Roshi are threatened with a merger, simply because no-one can expland their articles. I however believe I can expand them if they have their own articles. I have trouble with adding pictures but I can make them long enough. Besides, many of the characters are major supporting characters. Please consider my request. Please note that my Commander Red article was also deleted. That's not fair at all.Uglyguy2006

Seeing as how this is not a character from Dragonball whatsoever, should it really be included in this article? A spinoff character is not a character of the original. -- ProdigySim 02:46, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Mr.Satan/Hercule + Fat Buu

Wouldn't it be worth putting that Mr.Satan played a huge role in making Fat Buu seperate from his evil self? A paragraph should be dedicated to him taking credit or defeating Cell, thus infalting his ego to confront Buu, and ironically successfully changing him. Also, I don't have any sources for this, just a personal view, but Mr.Satan paralleld Son Goku in that arc. Throughout the series, Goku is defeating enemies and converting them into good guys. Mr.Satan, the shows comic relief and less notable character, steals the spotlight as a hero when he does so to Fat Buu. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.21.154.110 (talk) 06:59, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Android 17.jpg

Image:Android 17.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I brought them back because they are all major characters in more than one saga, especially General Blue and Commander Red, where an entire storyline pretty much revolves around them. There is absolutely no reason to delete them from the page when there are much less important characters on the page. Sesshomaru is the one who keeps taking out these extremely important characters and daring to even call them "trivial". 72.229.48.178 (talk) 15:30, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
I specifically said that they were too trivial to have their own sections, and could easily be referenced in #Red Ribbon Army, but whatever. I'm not going to fight tooth and claw for it, however, chances are that they probably won't survive a major revamp. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 15:44, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

I can guarantee you that I for one consider them very important, well most of them for that matter. Especially General Blue and Commander Red. They are far from trivial. - 72.229.48.178 (talk) 01:54, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

bring back mr.satan page

We need to get Mr.Satan his own page again.

No. He's a minor character. Despite his relationship with Majin Buu, there's nothing notable about him to have his own article. -- ZeroGiga 17:27, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

You have got to be kidding me. He's played parts in the movies, had a commentary role in the Cell Saga, and absolutely, undeniably was one of the main characters of the Majin Buu Saga. He is MUCH more than his relationship to Majin Buu. You need to go back and reread or rewatch the series. Mr. Satan's page will be rightfully up in the next few days. -- Detective X (talk) 08:56, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

I have to agree with ZeroGiga and Detective X. Satan played a fairly major role since he first appeared. He played a part in Gohan turning Super Saiyan 2 (threw #16's head so it could talk to Gohan), got Majin Buu to stop killing people, convinced the people of Earth to give Goku energy for the super genki dama, and saved Vegeta so Goku could use the attack. I think the guy deserves a lot more than to just be lumped in with all "minor" characters. On a somewhat related note, could all uses of "Hercule Satan" please be removed? His name is either Hercule or Mr. Satan, depending on which translation you want to use. -Krendall (talk) 20:42, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Mutaito Error

In Mutaito's entry it states that he never appears in the manga. This is false, as he does appear briefly in volume 12 as Kame Sen'nin recounts Mutaito using the mafuba attack on Piccolo. -Krendall (talk) 20:32, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Maron's "Ditzyness"

While I would agree that Maron is, indeed, a ditz, I think her calling Kuririn "Kurin" is a bad example. Since Kuririn is a pun on "kurin" (Japanese for chestnut), it's more likely that "Kurin-chan" (as she always called him) was more a nickname or term of endearment, not that she didn't know his actual name. -Krendall (talk) 20:32, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Deletion Consensus

Those that must remain removed from the page based on the consensus set forth by TTN, 3bulletproof16, Sesshomaru, and Sephiroth on the extraterrestrials talk page, which I have noted, are as follows:

  • angela - highly unimportant 1 episode filler character.
  • arale norimaki - inconsequential 2-episode character.
  • erasa - inconsequential filler character in less than 5 episodes total.
  • haiya dragon - filler side animal, appearing in 2 movies and in garlic junior saga.
  • sharpner - inconsequential filler character in less than 5 episodes total.
  • miss pizza - inconsequential filler character, no prevalence whatsoever in cell games saga.
  • lao - inconsequential character, appearing in only 1 episode.
  • vodka - inconsequential character, appearing in only 1 episode.

No Chiaotzu Page

I think it's strange that Chiaotzu does not have his own page considering his large roll in Dragonball, the Saiyan Saga, his training on King Kai's planet (where he defeated Guldo of the Ginyu Force) and not to forget his consistant appearances through out the rest of Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.153.176.225 (talk) 05:45, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Chaozu is right where he should be. While he did appear a lot, he never had much of a role outside of being Tenshinhan's friend/partner. In the manga (which many consider the most official source for anything) he only fought two real battles (Kurirn and Nappa). While he did defeat Gurdo on Kaio's planet (filler only), it was pretty much the last time he fought (except maybe GT, which I haven't seen). He joins everyone to see Trunks beat Freeza and King Cold, and then disappears. I think he has a one-panel reappearance during the Buu Saga, and that's it. - Krendall (talk) 17:44, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Ok, I guess thats fair enough but I have found that the Chaozu page has been horribly edited. There is vital information missing from his section.

Merge

Hiya there. I'm proposing a merge for all of the humans with articles. Bulma and Master Roshi HAVE NO SOURCES, and Krillin, Yamcha, and Tenshinhan's articles are so butchered to hell, they're screamin' for a merger. -- ZeroGiga 17:30, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

I strongly oppose the merge. Beowulph, Thanos6 and I worked hard on the Yamcha article, and someone decided to ruin it. I can work on it (and others) again, and I believe that Beowulph would like to join me. These characters are too notable to be in a single article too. And pls Soleil you are not helping, explain why should it be merged?! That goes for everyone else. SSJ 5 (talk) 01:57, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Because they lack independant notability, and thus should not have their own article. I (talk) 02:10, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
They were very notable in Dragon Ball and the first half of Dragon Ball Z ... So yeah, they are notable DB/Z characters ... SSJ 5 (talk) 03:57, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
They were not what Wikipedia considers notable, however. I (talk) 04:04, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
No, they're not what YOU consider notable. I'm going to fight this to my dying breath. All the ones remaining are notable, and indeed all the ones that were merged are as well. Thanos6 (talk) 05:30, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Have you read the guideline? It says that each character needs significant, non-trivial coverage by sources independant of the subject. None of the articles have this. It is really objective criteria. I (talk) 05:38, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
No, it's lame criteria. And besides, who decides what counts as non-trivial? Nothing is trivial if someone cares about it. Thanos6 (talk) 06:22, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
These characters have their background explained in manga, anime, anime conventions, data books and video games info about each character (Most notably Budokai Tenkaichi series games, which gave some new unknown info). There are many, many sources. So we know much about them, and as Thanos6 said "Nothing is trivial if someone cares about it." SSJ 5 (talk) 13:54, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

←If you think the criteria are lame, then try to get them changed, because as of now, they are community consensus and thus what we follow. And if you are going to fight the word trivial, then we'll use "significant coverage by reliable sources", which all of these articles lack. I (talk) 23:41, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

As do many others (Duh ...) ... But, DD articles all have data books and large online communities from which we could draw info. As I said what is your problem here? Info can be provided. SSJ 5 (talk) 04:32, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
It is not lack of information that is the problem. It is lack of notability. I (talk) 04:43, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Again, no such thing as lack of notability. Thanos6 (talk) 14:57, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Glad to see that YOU showed up for the fray, friend. Anyway, I suggested this in the first place because somebody chopped the Krillin, Yamcha, and Tien articles to almost NOTHING. Tien's article, for example, is literally just some plot info and some "fireball attacks!" bullsh*t. That's some notability, right? Also, there's no point in having articles with no sources and stub articles. -- ZeroGiga 17:30, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Hey, here's an idea. Let's unbutcher them, flesh them out, make them nice and long, and source them! WOW! Thanos6 (talk) 01:13, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanos6 and I could make good articles and you guys just keep ignoring it ... SSJ 5 (talk) 08:40, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
Feel free to create a sandox User:X/Sandbox/anything else and show it. Or you can just find the information quickly and add it into the article. TTN (talk) 13:03, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
I would support a merge instead of fighting about this in AfD. Yes, these characters were important for the story (I watched DBZ a couple of years ago and liked it a lot), but they are not notable independent of the work of fiction they appear in. The Bulma article still has no demonstration of significant coverage in reliable sources despite having had to endure AfD twice in the past three months, so it is getting hard to overlook lacking notability. – sgeureka t•c 22:09, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
They were VERY IMPORTANT IN DRAGONBALL!!! VERY!!! SSJ 5 (talk) 13:46, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
And BTW Yamcha is confirmed to appear in the live-action movie, and have a significant role ... SSJ 5 (talk) 14:34, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
So Yamcha's gonna appear in some shitty live-action movie. That's no excuse to give him an article, ESPECIALLY one that is a stub or near stub. Sry, but adding that fact isn't enough to break this. Perhaps you should bring back the abilities and cite their sources, that should at least improve Yamcha by a margin. BTW, if you're looking for the guy who "messed up" the article, look at the history. Sessomaru's (spl??) your man. ZeroGiga (Contact) 16:34, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
Ok I shall do so ... SSJ 5 (talk) 05:39, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
Good enough or do I need to do more ? SSJ 5 (talk) 15:34, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
You need real world information, not in-universe information. TTN (talk) 21:39, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
That too ??? Ok gimme some time ... SSJ 5 (talk) 00:07, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Well, you got til' Christmas before I (or maybe TTN) merge all the articles. Get to work! >:3 Oh, and make sure you get the info for Master Roshi and Bulma too. -- ZeroGiga (contact) 9:21, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Do not merge anything yet ... Some people oppose this as you can see ... SSJ 5 (talk) 04:49, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Well, I just took a look at Yamcha's article, and I must say so far so good. I might break the merger on him. I just have to see the others. Oh, and since I'm a good mood, I'll extend the deadline abit to the 29th. Keep it up, man! ~_* -- ZeroGiga (contact) 17:21, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Thnx, I trying really hard to keep the article ... I will try to do the Tenshinhan article too, but I don't know if I'll find the time for that SSJ 5 (talk) 01:57, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
I think it is alright now. Take a look on Yamucha article. SSJ 5 (talk) 17:55, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
And BTW I could use some help on that if anyone feels like it ? SSJ 5 (talk) 00:08, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
And I want to encourage others to work on Kuririn and Tenshinhan articles as well SSJ 5 (talk) 02:37, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Support merge for Master Roshi, Yamcha and Tien. Oppose merge for No.17, Bulma and Krillin, this are really important characters and maybe their articles just need some work and references. Lord Opeth (talk) 18:00, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
And you base that on what??? How are No.17 and Bulma more important than Master Roshi, Yamcha and Tien??? SSJ 5 (talk) 19:34, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

Strong oppose for Bulma, Roshi, Yamcha and Tien. The articles are badly written, but their roles in Dragonball and Dragonball Z are too major for a list, especially Bulma. Just consider the articles as broken off from the list for length and style reasons. - The Norse (talk) 23:06, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

And how come Vegeta, Gohan, etc articles don't have any real world information ???? —Preceding unsigned comment added by SSJ 5 (talkcontribs) 05:40, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Strongly Oppose - This article is already too much cluttered and up for cleanup. Its status is disputed and its too lengthy. Merger would only create problems. Besides Krillin, Yamcha, and Tenshinhan are major characters that need their own articles. What should be done is to improve the existing articles and cite sources instead of just merging. That way, the whole Dragonball universe would end up in one article. UzEE (TalkContribs) 23:39, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
Go ahead and remove any article/information about Dragon ball. [Personal attack removed] Why the fuck you guys are so determined to remove everything? Wikipedia is about information and you guys are constantly removing things. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.216.46.249 (talk)
Come on ppl ... Will someone do the Kuririn and Tenshinhan articles or will i have to??? SSJ 5 (talk) 05:43, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Ok this is going nowhere ... ZeroGiga is not active anymore and I propose that we drop this ... 79.101.199.151 (talk) 12:29, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
"Not Active"? HA! In your dreams, pal. I'm still running this show here. If you wanna talk sas like that again, I'll bring TTN over here to help me out! >:3 Anyway, this is good so far. The Yamcha articles are on par and are pretty much notable itself. Now the rest. From what I remember right, the Bulma article still doesn't have enough real world info to be notable enough. Overall, I think I'll take Yamcha off the merger, everyone else stays unless you can improve it. Oh, and SSJ 5, I have a surprise waiting for you on the User Page. -- ZeroGiga (contact) 9:21, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Thx ZeroGiga ;) I'm honored ^^ SSJ 5 (talk) 00:03, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
So ? Are we gonna drop this or what? SSJ 5 (talk) 20:14, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
No. Someone needs to close this, though. We'll wait a few days, and then we might need to be proactive. seresin || wasn't he just...? 23:28, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
They all need to be merged. None of them assert notability outside of the series. Even the information on the Yamucha article doesn't cut it, all of those sources are fansites, blogs or primary sources (the manga itself). None of these articles would pass at AfD so they shouldn't here. Just because they're popular and you guys like them doesn't mean they warrant an article. So unless you guys can fix these up and add reliable sources to back up character design and fan reaction they need to be merged. --Malevious Userpage •Talk Page• Contributions 04:50, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Going by that logic we should merge every other DBZ article ... Yamcha's been rated a Good Article ... So ... In next few days I'll try to fix Tenshinhan ... SSJ 5 (talk) 05:01, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

And I dont see why you jackasses must transform all of wikipedia into a shitty one page article stating "This is Earth." who is to say that we have this so called real world information about our world everything we have in our human knowledge basis are theories that were invented by us. So what I am saying is that all the real world information we need is the information stated in the real world as shown in context. It is always enough to have information of plot trivia creation concept etc. Wat many of you are stating is that their plot creation concept and abilities were not created in the real world therefore cannot be considered real world information when in fact the person who created these characters is real and therefore his creations must be real in their own conventional way. Whether or not you agree with me is irrelevent but the fact that some idiot decided to merge these characters because of a personal vendetta or hatred for these particular characters and that some of you want to agree with him because nobody has gone out and had an interview with Yamcha or Krillin is completely ridiculous. In all real world logic these MAIN CHARACTERS cannot be merged because if you do that you are giving me permission to delete every article of something I don't like or that I can't interview. - signed - THE NOOB —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.87.122.180 (talk) 05:13, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Alright, stop with the whining and SHUT YOUR MOUTH, CHRIS CROCKER! If you wanna go after someone, go after TTN. He loves doing this. As for me, I'm following the rules because some dude decides to reduce the articles to stub. We're making progress, and as for you, just get outta here. -- ZeroGiga (contact) 9:21, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

I strongly oppose. They are most of the main charecters with too much to be condensed into one page plus they deserve to be one page each, all of them playing an important part in the Dragon ball sieres, all 3 (not so much the third but thats the one no one liked) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.70.151.153 (talk)

Hell no. Why in the hell are you guys butchering more articles? Krillin, Yamcha, etc are all main characters. If the articles are not up to par, then revitalize them rather than merge them. This is why I no longer like Wikipedia as the users and admins are constantly taking good articles and merging them for no reason. Look at what happened to the Pokemon pages.74.252.2.130 (talk) 03:35, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
No do not merge it the articles ar too big for this! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.248.101.224 (talk) 14:07, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Oppose. The characters that are being proposed to be merged are significant enough to be listed separately, as they have been major characters during the franchise's history. DWolf2k2 (talk) 07:56, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Just my opinion (for what it's worth) I would be okay with Bulma and Roshi being merged. Yes, they had significant roles, but they were never really "major" characters, in my opinion. Kuririn, Yamucha, and Tenshinhan, however, should have their own articles. The only one in that group who I could see being merged is Tenshinhan, since he really wasn't that significant outside of the 22nd Budokai and Demon Piccolo sagas. Yamucha was Goku's first rival and played a role in nearly every storyline through the Cell saga, and Kuririn was almost always there throughout the whole series after he appeared. As far as being notable outside of the DB/Z/GT world is concerned, I don't think it should matter, despite what the almighty Wiki guidelines say. I think the DB section of Wikipedia should be set up so that a person wanting to learn about it can learn all there is to know about certain characters and the series. For example, I should be able to look up Yamcha and learn who he is, when he appeared, his personality, how that personality changed throughout the series, the names of his attacks, when he first learned/used those attacks, his role in the various storylines, and so on. I'd be happy to help with this process for all the characters, though my information sources are currently only limited to the manga. -Krendall (talk) 20:56, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Tienshinhan had a lot more appearnces in the Cell Saga than Yamcha. But I do atmit that if Kurrin, Tienshinhan, Yamcha, Bulma or Master Roshi are merged I will be desgusted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.153.176.225 (talk) 11:47, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Dude's whats up with the mergers and stuff? you cant say that a character is not important just because he's no Goku or Vegeta, all characters are important, if the articles are merged just because angry joe didnt like the characters and theyre info's just come from the manga, why dont we all erase the whole DB articles and write "Read the manga" instead? what if someone wants to learn about Chiaotzu's special techniques? or when was his favorite character first appereance? doesnt wikipedia exist so people can have were to look info about almost everything? the only reason to merge an article is because the people who write it didnt do good enough, but that doesnt mean that character cant have an article just because someone didnt do whats necesary, so i think many characters from here need an article. No Olibu Mention

I have struggeled to find any mention of Olibu in anything related to Dragonball Z, I find that rather ridiculas. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.153.176.225 (talk) 05:52, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

What's so ridiculous about that? Olibu was only in 4 episodes. The major overhaul of the page will result in many of the currently listed people to be removed in order to cut down the size of the article. It is more than certain that the likes of Olibu, Froug, Torbie, Arqua, Caterpy, Maraikoh, Tapkar and any other of the Other World filler episodes will most likely not be included since they were extremely limited in appearance, from 3 to 4 episodes at the most, with the central plot revolving around Goku and Pikkon. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 03:19, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Olibu apparntly is the strongest earthling in history until Yamcha defeats him and another fighter with relative ease in the Majin Buu saga and later when Uub is introduced. He has a long battle with Pikkon, is a good friend with Goku and battles Kid Buu along side Kurrin, Pikkon and Yamcha in Other World. A small mention isn't much of a problam, is it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.153.176.225 (talk) 11:35, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Colonel Violet

Violet should be added to the Red Ribbon Army Section.

Hell no. She is not needed. ZeroGiga (talk) 01:04, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Hero

Hero (Dragon Ball) redirects here, but this page doesn't appear to have any information on a character named Hero. Propaniac (talk) 14:37, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

The section was likely removed during a huge makeover of this page. I suggest re-targeting the link to List of supernatural beings in Dragon Ball#Kami. That'll do the trick ;) Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 21:45, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

What IS an Earthling

This article includes characters of several different species, so how do you decide what an Earthling is? Technically, Gohen, Goten, Piccolo, Trunks, Bra, Cell and countless other characters are from Earth, they're just as much Earthlings as anyone else on this page. A better (or any) definition of Earthling is required.Adroa (talk) 21:36, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Gohan, Goten, Trunks and Bra are half saiyan, half human, so they should be in a list for half saiyans, half humans. Cell is an artificial lifeform MADE in earth and he doesnt even have human cells, so it doesnt count. Piccolo is Namekian and he's the self-reincarnation of Piccolo Daimao (who comes from namek) thats why he fused with kamisama. Hisham-77 17:16 June 27 2008 —Preceding comment was added at 23:17, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

I Correct myself, any person, animal, creature that lives on earth is an earthling (got mixed up with human :p) --Hisham-77 (talk) 13:29, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Chaozu issue

Stop deleting the info of King Piccolo killing Chaozu. It is Chaozu's second biggest moment in the entire series. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.153.176.66 (talk) 08:21, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Assistant Black, Commander Red, and General Blue

I can understand the overall deletion and not considering inclusion of the rest of the red ribbon army, but these three: Red, Black, and Blue, need to have their own sections because they are highly prevalent characters, secondary characters actually, far from tertiary and much, much more important than many people on the page. That is the only problem I have with the page's organization right now. Otherwise, everything else is fine. 72.229.48.178 (talk) 00:01, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Cell Juniors

Can somebody please explain why these guys are in the earthling category? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.153.174.192 (talk) 08:18, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

I can, because some editors think they were born on earth they should be earthlings, technically they are creatures that Cell spawned by asexually reproduction, so they are artificial lifeforms just like it (Cell), i think its better if the Cell juniors article is merged with the Cell article. Hisham-77 5:38 June 27 2008

Agreed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.153.176.66 (talk) 08:18, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Any living being born on Earth is an Earthling, that's the definition of Earthling. This means that Piccolo, Gohan, Cell, Goten, Trunks, Pan, Bra, and so on are actually Earthlings. Distinction is made only to prevent clutter. Xyex (talk) 02:43, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Characters to little = Editors who dont help

Lists of characters filled with characters who dont have an article is what happens when people start owning wikipedia instead of building wikipedia, i accept that there are many characters who are to little to have theyre own article, but those characters are the ones who contribute a little to the story but dont have the sufficient info to have theyre own article, even Jabba the hut has his own article, and guess what its a FA!!(featured article) not even Darth Vader's a FA, but come on the androids dont have theyre own article? i accept 19 not having its own article but 16,17 and 18 did have a lot of info to make a whole article about them, heck chiaotzu doesnt even have his own article whats up with that? just because the character isnt the supervillain or the principal doesnt there isnt enough info to make an article about him, remember that wikipedia doesnt have a limit of articles, so we are obligued to make articles to people who search for something, and i think 4 lines isnt enough info. Hisham-77 5:54 June 27 2008

Yeah... and what's the point of your rambling? You wanna complain, go to Sir Wales. ZeroGiga (talk) 01:03, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah well %^&*(&,haha no im not mad, im just a little bit of a perfectionist and this article need's a HUGE makeover, and some characters have enough info to make a whole article about them, i also think it would be better if we had a "list of Androids" or "list of Dr. Gero's creations" or something just think about all the info all the androids put together have, problem is i dont know how to actually create an article, so umm help? anyone? --Hisham-77 (talk) 13:29, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
I would agree with an article about the Red Ribbon Army instead of "List of Androids" in DB. The Red Ribbon had a great involvement in the whole series. A brief description and synopsis of the organization, plus a list of characters related to it would be ok. Also, we should try to get some reliable secondary sources, some concept and creation, and reception sections to prove that the RR deserves its own article. --LøЯd ۞pεth 22:08, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
