List organization

Is there a particular reason to sort the list by letters? It would seem to be more usable to have the list organized by state/country or by region. I'm not sure if combining it all into two big sortable lists—one undergrad, one alumnae—would make the lists too cumbersome to work with, but by state seems a better breakout. —C.Fred (talk) 17:50, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

I've seen it both ways, but given that the regions will change from Greek Letter Organization to Greek Letter Organization, by founding date or by Greek Letter seems the one that would be most consistent. Things will have to be tweeked to wikipedia standards anyway. ('Founded' is lowercase in wikipedia, for example). Having said that, I know how much work bringing something like this to Wikipedia is.Naraht (talk) 18:41, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
I agree, and that's why I wouldn't want to completely overhaul the list. However, it may be worth combining the undergrad chapters into a single list. Sort keyed right, the list can still display primarily in Greek letter order, with options to sort by institution and location (especially if the {{sort}} template is applied to sort it in state, city order). Let's make sure the data is all present first; over the next day or two, I'll do a stub table of what I'd like to do and present it here for discussion. —C.Fred (talk) 19:23, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
The Template chapter will definitely be our friend there. This will enable sorting by greek letter chapter, so that {{chapter|Omega}} will come just before {{chapter|Alpha|Alpha}}Naraht (talk) 19:58, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

"citywide" vs "city-wide" vs. "city wide"

I think we should have consistency on whether the chapter names have a space, a hyphen or nothing in between city and wide, the list so far is inconsistent. OTOH, it doesn't appear that there is any consistency on www.deltasigmatheta.org. Any ideas?Naraht (talk) 20:30, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

Made it through Xi

I made it through the undergraduate chapters starting with Xi with my fixes to remove redlinks and get links pointing to where they should. I should be able to pick up Omicron in the next day or so. I switched the order in some of these around to make it more clear, we'll have to work out something if the text that was originally there needs to be kept as the exact text on the charter or something.

Original Eta and Theta

Back in the 1920s, DST assigned Eta and Theta to Syracuse and Cornell, I think these should be kept in the single letter chapters, I've marked them as "Original", but am quite willing to discuss a better word.Naraht (talk) 16:58, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

Chapter Template

As part of making it sortable, we should use the chapter template. {{chapter|Alpha|Xi}} for example.
