There is already an article on the List of Jewish communities in North America. A kollel is simply a specialized Jewish Community, and thus falls under the purview of the mentioned list. This article (a list with a single entry) seems somewhat pointless. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:00, 9 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

A Kollel is an organization. Technically any organization can be described as a community; but there is a difference. About the list consisting of one entry; there are 50+ Community Kollels in USA. Feel free to add to the list. It was only started today....Ben Lazer (talk) 18:47, 9 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
True, a Kollel is an organization. But then, so is a Temple, a Synagogue or a Yeshiva, but all of these are listed collectively under List of Jewish communities in North America. Why should Kollels get special treatment? WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:31, 9 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
The List of Jewish communities in North America was designed to list yeshivot, Hebrew schools and synagogues. I have no idea why that criteria was chosen. In practice it seems that the entries have no criteria whatsoever. A list like that doesn't belong in any encyclopedia. As unwieldy as it is now, we can just imagine how it would look if it were to be factually comprehensive. We need to break down "Jewish Communities" into lists with more specified criterias.
This list - being something that technically doesn't belong in the List of Jewish communities in North America (because a Kollel is not a yeshivot, Hebrew schools or a synagogue) - is a great start to more useable and specific list of "Jewish Communities".Ben Lazer (talk) 20:47, 9 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
