Dispute regarding first street renamed for Reverend King Jr.

This article says that Chicago's King Drive, formerly South Park Drive, was the first street in the nation to be named for Martin Luther King Jr. after his assassination. There is not citation for this statement. In the article April 1968, it has a cited statement in the section for Thursday, April 11, that Tampa, Florida, became the first city to rename a street as a legacy to Martin Luther King Jr., with the city council voting unanimously "to change the name of Main Street, between North Boulevard and MacDill Avenue to Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard in honor of the assassinated Negro leader.", per the citation "Renaming Honors King", The Tampa Times, April 11, 1968, p1. Montrose Ave

Information about Montrose Ave is available in Wikipedia and elsewhere, but there's conflicting information and it's too much of a rabbit hole for me. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montrose_station_(CTA_Brown_Line). Unfortunately, it's not sourced. But a conflicting (unsourced) etymology is provided here: https://interactive.wttw.com/playlist/2017/11/03/chicago-streets-names Danchall (talk) 10:54, 21 February 2024 (UTC) UPDATE: looks like the same guy, since the Marquess wiki page referred to "the Great Montrose." Apparently the other article used "Montrose" as if it were a surname, and "Graham" might be used for a middle initial. Still, the etymology of the street name is unsourced.Danchall (talk) 15:25, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
