Opening/Ending theme list

edit

Why is it gone? I liked to see a full single list of all episode themes in one page when it was still here (especially to check if new themes are confirmed and added) Rubycored (talk) 00:24, 18 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Same here. There was no discussion before the removal, so we could undo it. --Kazu89 ノート 12:45, 18 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
It was gone because it was have been merged to its respected episode seasons. You can find the seasons on List of Case Closed Episodes and then click the main article of that season. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Raychut (talkcontribs) 15:54, 18 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Now there's a new list with the OPs and EDs of the series proper but that's nothing compared to the table of before which also contained the international adoptions. What's the point of removing the table and then creating a new list? Moreover, this is not a "list if Case Closed music tracks" but a list of Meitantei Conan music tracks since it doesn't contain a single US Case Closed theme. --Kazu89 ノート 22:00, 15 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I added the OP/ED list back, since "List of Case Closed music tracks" is the best place to put them. The reason it uses the Case Closed title is simply because that is the title used in the US, and is consistent with other related articles on Wikipedia. In addition, it seems most of us are in agreement that OP/ED should be part of this page, as it was not discussed before its removal.Cocomonk22 (talk) 08:32, 4 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
I agree with you. Though I want to suggest that the table sections "Opening 2" etc. should contain the adoptions of the Japanese OP02, not the second opening used in the respective countries. Since the OPs 2 and 6 weren't adopted anywhere, nothing'd be listed. Of course this doesn't apply to countries with home-made openings. What do the others think? --Kazu89 ノート 19:12, 4 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

It has been merged. Also for the theme song discussion, this is English Wikipedia, we only state the English openings. If you want to find the openings of other languages, go look at fansites. DragonZero (talk · contribs) 23:30, 4 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Wow, the English-speaking Wikipedia keeps articles like this one and prefers to delete solid, noteworthy information? Why not adopting de.wiki's deletion policy? You could halfen the article count in two days. --Kazu89 ノート 13:02, 5 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
You don't get it. There's an English license of this series, so we list only the English theme songs. We do not list the series information in other languages if they are licensed in English. For example Jimmy Kudo is not called his Spanish counterpart Bobby Jackson, nor is his Spanish voice actor on there. No note-worthy information was deleted here at all. Wrong, I got you. The English-speaking Wikipedia isn't the Wikipedia of England or of the UK, it's rather considered an international Wikipedia. This is especially due to the fact that English is the global language. As you can see, this Wikipedia has an article on almost every (non-English-speaking) local adoption of Who wants to be a millionaire, Idol and what-not-else. I'm well aware of the fact that there's an English-dubbed version, hence I don't demand that anyone safe Jimmy Kudo as 工藤真一 or Bobby Jackson. However, since this project, surely more than most other websites out there, is a global work of reference, you should be a bit more open for this fact.
One more thing you seem to have forgotten: all songs used in movies 1 through 3 (didn't watch later ones) were dubbed in English, including famous Kimi ga ireba (Because you're there). Where did you list the movie endings and image songs that don't even have official names in English? Did they dub the image songs used in early tv anime episodes? Can't find them here. --Kazu89 ノート 19:24, 5 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I asked Collectonian about other language release dates for the movies. The reply was "They should be removed per WP:MOSFILMS and the consensus of the Films project. Only the original release should be covered in film articles, along with major English releases (in prose). For the characters, all of that should be removed as the articles should only include the original and English character names and voices. Ditto for the theme music. Other languages should be covered on their respective Wikis. They are not covered here unless they are highly notable." DragonZero (talk · contribs) 21:12, 11 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
