Future expansion: Table?

As a suggestion for future development of this list, one idea would be to reformat as a table, with each entry containing the character's name (and link to article if relevant), identifying the Marvel and DC characters combined to form the Amalgam character, and the Amalgam works the character appeared in (possibly a fifth column to fit any notes and citations. This would be a handy reference for a passing reader, who encounters the main Amalgam article, finds out about the whole "DC mixed with Marvel" concept, and wants to quickly find out who is paired up with who without diving into deep plot or having to go through each article individually. Something like:

I would do it myself, but from the looks of the banner above and the discussions at Talk:Amalgam Comics and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Comics/Character alternate version guidelines make me think that the handling of Amalgam comics is a fairly touchy subject for comics editors, and it would be better for the uninitiated moi (I'm not a big comic reader, and my entire understanding of Amalgam is through the various Wikipedia articles) to leave it to the experts.

Which is why I put in a column specifically for references. Alternately, ensure the entries in each column are cited. Either way, no source should equal no entry. -- saberwyn 07:27, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Latest edit

Added a major expansion to the article, but it was reverted because I didn't put the references. How do you put the comics themselves as references? I couldn't figure it out.151.166.15.115 (talk) 05:15, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

Revised the article to make it easier to read. Added names and such to show that certain characters connections can be shown through their naming convention, such as Catsai being Elektra Kyle, which is a mixing of Elektra Natchios and Selina Kyle. There have been many, many discussions regarding these characters. Do not tell the readers which characters combined which other characters, no matter how obvious they may seem, unless you can cite exactly where the comic books showed specific characters merging.Doczilla _STOMP!(UTC)

The problem is that most of the characters were never seen merging. I believe the only ones that were shown sere Super Soldier and Dark Claw, and that wasn't of them merging, it was of them splitting back apart after DC Versus Marvel ended.151.166.15.115 (talk) 05:30, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Redid the format to how I had it in my last edit to make it easier to read. This article needs additional references. First to prove that the characters appear in the comic books. Second to prove the amalgamation if it is possible. Wikipedia:WikiProject Comics/References gives "a selection of resources to help provide reliable sources and prove notability", Marvunapp is written in the section Wikipedia:WikiProject_Comics/References#Databases, indices, and other such websites "has been credited as a source by Marvel in their Marvel Monsters volume".

Is Nightcaster Spymaster?

I can't find any information of Nightcaster's existence on Arrowcaster's page on the internet, so judging by Caster in his name it rhymes with Master which is part of Spymaster from Marvel Comics, so ArrowCaster is already an Amalgam of Speedy/Roy Harper from DC Comics, this also means he is an Amalgam of SpyMaster from Marvel Comics, so I suggest you should change NightCaster to Spymaster because that's the real amalgam that DC's Roy Harper was merged into, not Nightcaster.

Also can you add the 2 Speed Demons in this page as well?

Can you add Speed Demon and Kid Demon under Speed Demon in this page and what they amalgamated from like Wally West(Kid Flash) from DC and Danny Ketch(Ghost Rider) for Kid Demon, and Barry Allen(Flash) and Etrigan(Demon) from DC and Johnny Blaze(Ghost Rider) from Marvel in Speed Demon?

You also forgot Nickel in Magneto and his Magnetic Men

You could put Nickel in Magneto and his Magnetic Men and what he's made of like Mercury(Metal Men) and Vicki Vale of DC and Marvel's Quicksilver and Lance Bannon.

Oh, and one more thing

Can you put White Whip and Retribution and Skinhunter in Generation Hex and what's they were amalgamated from like White Queen from the Marvel Universe and Whip from the DC Universe. For Retribution, Penance from the Marvel Universe and Firehair of the DC Universe. Non-existent characters

I'm reasonably sure that some of these characters don't actually exist. I removed one and see that at least one other has been removed in the last few months. Unfortunately, since many of these characters appeared in only one issue (or were only mentioned on a letters page) there is very little information on them so the only way to really check is it to go through and read all the original comics.
