Unsourced Info

edit
    • "It should also be noted that the week of Lisa's elimination, the top models did a photoshoot in which Lisa excelled. She did so well in fact, that the art director stopped the shoot so that the other models could see Lisa's amazing poses. Upon doing so, the art director gave each model, with the exception of Lisa, ten additional frames, thus giving them an advantage." removed this because there is no evidence for this Jubella 21:21, 23 April 2006 (UTC)JubellaReply

Trivia

edit
  • First caucasian contestant to win "CoverGirl of The Week."
  • First non-winning America's Next Top Model contestant to appear on a future season (Cycle 6, Episode 5.)
  • Favourite Food: ezekial toast

Trivia is considered unencyclopaedic. These sections are being removed from Wikipedia. If any of the facts are siginificant work them into the body of the article. Doc 18:14, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Magazine

edit

Why did you removed Magazine from Elle Girl?? Lil Flip246 18:16, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

because it is incorrect. The magazine is called just ELLEgirl. Speaking of which it should be wikied and even the article here is just that. Doc 18:30, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
But it's a magazine, so shouldn't it state so? Lil Flip246 18:34, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
No. If it is wikied then that will be selfevident to anyone that doen't know that. Doc 18:49, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Factual Accuracy Tag

edit

I realize it's hard to find sources for modeling gigs. However, the information in the Before Top Model section is simply not reliable. I'm keeping it here for the benefit of the doubt, but if sources aren't found quickly, I will remove it. Elcda0 23:51, 9 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Considering any person who has previous, extensive modelling experience is not allowed on the show, I would doubt those are legit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.134.196.40 (talk) 21:49, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

The article is mostly POV and opinion. How can wishing to "speak her mind to the other contestants" be described as "support" - more like (constructive?) criticism. What is the connection between being "abused as a child" and having "warmhearted intentions"? Is it a false perception to see this as "arrogance and cockiness". If she was so controversial, how did this reduce the stress level, and what is the connection between that and her "having fun" - she might have had fun winding up the other contestants? Altogether a very sloppily written article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.197.15.138 (talk) 23:06, 26 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Controversy

edit

I've excised the controversy section, which was atrociously written and had major POV problems. In addition, the actual content does not seem encyclopedic. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.146.24.74 (talkcontribs)

It is because the article is good enough and Take note! a reality tv contestant doesn't need to make the final five just to have an article here like Rupert Boneham and those American Idol contestants, right huh.--hottie 14:00, 8 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

D.O.B.?

edit

There seems to be some disagreement as to her date of birth. The top of the page has it as October 22, 1980, the box says October of 1982, and the tv.com site linked at the bottom of the page says 1/1/1981. Person man345 (talk) 21:38, 16 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've removed the birthdates and ages. There are no credible references provided which establish her date of birth or age. -- Mikeblas (talk) 01:41, 14 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Lisa D'Amato's age

IMDB (which might not be a good ref.) and a few other sites state her birth date, =) http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&client=safari&rls=en-us&q=Lisa+D%27Amato%27s+age&aq=f&oq=&aqi= Swancookie (talk) 00:10, 14 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

(preceding comment moved here from my talk page) It would be great if we could get a citation to something more reliable. For example, an interview with her, or her own personal website, or an official bio for a television show on which she was a participant. Thanks! Plastikspork (talk) 00:15, 14 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

How can we be sure? First of all, under Categories at the bottom of the page, "1980 births" is listed. Not my doing. This supports the info on Family Tree Legends (a birth records database that documents California births between 1905 and 1995). Btw - I trust it since I've tested it with all my California relatives old and new (including myself) and have found the information to be accurate (as well as for celebrities born in CA). So, if it's true that Lisa D'Amato was born in Los Angeles (as many other websites, including wiki, attest), she's in Family Tree Legends. Sure enough, a "Lisa Marie Damato" is listed as being born October 22, 1980 in LA County. TV.com confirms that her middle name is Marie. It also lists her date of birth as "1/1/81" - which is a misleading way of saying "ca. 1981" (I've seen other websites do this).

IMDb lists her birthday as "October 22, 1981" which appears to be a simple mistake. I'm going to trust the birth certificate info database (especially since somebody seems to have been onto the truth by posting "1980 births" - and IMDb doesn't even have a fleshed out biography, so they could have "telephoned" it in). The reason for "Damato" vs. "D'Amato" (on Family Tree Legends) is simply because the software doesn't recognize "'" or other marks, just the letters in order. I type in "D'Amato," it reads "Damato". I type in "van Ness," it reads "Vanness," etc. So, I'm pretty sure this is correct.

(preceding comment moved here from my talk page) Per WP:BLP, it's best if we just omit the date of birth. As you said, there are conflicting sources, and both sources are not conclusive. More importantly, due to privacy concerns, we shouldn't post a date of birth unless we are sure that it has been officially publicly released. Thanks! Unverifiable Information Revisited

edit

This page is rife with unverifiable information that is both poorly written and littered with weasel words. I propose the entire "Early Life" and "Musical Career" sections and the uncited portions of the "Modeling Career" section be deleted as I can't find a single source, reputable or not, to corroborate the information written there. If acceptable sources can be produced, the article needs a thorough rewrite to meet wikipedia standards. Honestly it appears as either the subject herself or someone close to her edited the page in an attempt to increase her profile. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.42.198.178 (talk) 07:47, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
