The result of the move request was: Consensus to move, exactly where is a matter of deduction. (1) There is clear consensus and policy-based reasoning to remove "the" from the title. (2) There is also consensus to disambiguate using the name of the country at the time, which is Myanmar, not Burma. However there is no consensus on whether to use natural disambiguation or parenthetical disambiguation for the country. Given the consensus on points (1) and (2), the title we are left with is Lion Throne of Burma. As there is no consensus on whether to use Lion Throne of Burma or Lion Throne (Burma), the status quo has been preserved and the article has been moved to the former. This is without prejudice against speedy renomination to gain consensus on natural or parenthetical disambiguation, or Netoholic's alternative proposal. • I'm partial to the current natural disambiguation, though I agree that phrase is not commonly used. I'd propose move to Sihasana as a better alternative. -- Netoholic @ 20:27, 27 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment. Whatever happens, per WP:THE the definite article should be removed. I would also note that given the country was always known as Burma when the throne was in use, any disambiguator should be Burma and not Myanmar. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:08, 30 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment. I fully agree with calling the country at that time Burma. But The Lion Throne seems to me more common, as most people and also the National Museum in their leaflet call it The Lion Throne. • No source I can find capitalises "the" in running text, so per WP:THE we shouldn't include it in the title. Just being referred to as "the Lion Throne" (of course it is) doesn't mean we should include the definite article in the title. Most things are; most Wikipedia articles do not. -- Necrothesp (talk) 09:50, 1 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
