Hello Wikipedia,

I haven't made any edits to the article itself, but wanted to note another source that could be valuable to people wanting to know more about Lina Prokofiev. For a glimpse at Lina Prokofiev's time in the gulag, see "Dancing Under the Red Star: the extraordinary story of Margaret Werner, the only American woman to survive Stalin's gulag," by Karl Tobien, page 209-212.

Margaret Werner became friends with Lina Prokofiev in a camp in 1949 before Prokofiev was transfered to another camp, Vorkuta, which was above the Arctic Circle. The account details how Lina's Russian husband and her sons would have nothing further to do with her once she was labeled a vrag naroda -- they never visited, she never received any food or clothing from them -- because to associate with her would be political suicide. The account also details what Lina told Margaret Werner about her former glamorous life and relationship with Sergei Prokofiev.

"Lina said that her sons actually had very little to do with it. 'What could they do, Margie? Sergei said they had no choice, but I knew that he would never leave Russia -- even if he could.' " pg 211.

Thought I should share this because its an interesting first hand account that would probably be difficult to find if you were trying to search for information on Lina Ivanovna Prokofiev. I happened upon it by chance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.248.107.102 (talk) 21:56, 1 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

People from Madrid? edit

She is categorized as «people from Madrid». What does this mean? I mean, yeas, she was by chance born in Madrid, but she had no other relation with the city. She had no family there, no roots, she was not raised there... So, she was not from Madrid. She was a Catalan-Ukrainian who, just by chance, was born in Madrid. She should be categorized as Catalan and Ukrainian, no «from Madrid», if this category wants to mean anything significant.
