Talk:Lin family murders (Australia)

Is this appropriate edit

It is bad taste to have this page as a running, relatively uninformed commentary on the murders, trial etc. It appears there is a lot of unsubstantiated material here - surely this does more harm than good. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.44.164.140 (talk) 23:04, 16 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

What's his name? edit

My edit of 13 Jan 2017 was reverted. I had added a (non-PinYin) guide to pronunciation of "Xie" for the benefit of people unaware of Chinese pronunciation. "Xie" is still mis-pronounced by (at least) the English-language broadcast media in Australia, more than six years after the events - usually as "Zee". While the pronunciation of "Lin" in English is unproblematic, that of "Xie" isn't, unless one has learned about Pin Yin pronunciation. So, I offered "share" as an approximately correct phonetic rendition - but, despite my explanation in the edit summary, this was reverted by a pedantic busybody.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.64.142.162 (talkcontribs)

Because it was invented nonsense. WWGB (talk) 01:55, 23 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
