Fjords / Limans edit

It would be interesting for the article to contain a few words on the similarities and differences between fjords and limans. - Mauco 17:11, 5 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fjords are formed when an Alpine mountain range comes down to the sea. Limans are formed on gently sloping coasts and don't have rocky shores. That's my simple explanation anyway. Balcer 17:51, 5 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! You should add that info. Just don't say "Alpine" because I believe that fjords are present in Scandinavia, Argentina, and possibly other places (where there are no Alps). - Mauco 22:27, 5 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
And of course Alps have no fjords! I meant of course "Alpine" as only "like the Alps" in appearance, in the sense of being high, geologically young mountains. Balcer 22:32, 5 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

A fjord is created by the ice coming from mountain or from sea. For liman - see the articol. Vlaton, 27 July 2006
