Good source for improvement
editThere is a good source for improvement of this article at The Mudcat Cafe. Matchups 03:29, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
There is a traditional Irish Version of this song that has been recorded by many artist most notably The Chieftans featuring Roseanne Cash. Although the lyrics are different the stories are so similar that it is not hard to assume that the traditional Irish tune predates and is the basis for the American folk tune.
Irish Version
editAdded info about the Irish version (mentioned above) as covered by The Chieftans. The lyrics, actually, are almost exactly the Joan Baez et all version, except for the ending. --Harel Newman 01:45, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
Wrong in so many way
editSo glad I don't edit for wikipedia (Lower case correct). It's easier to do the admin jobs and criticize others work... Here goes: there are too many errors in this article to mention them all. Why not do some real research and have someone come along here and fix this article and include references, etc. There! That was fun. Good to see wikipedia living up to it's (sub)standards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.58.247.77 (talk) 21:36, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
I agree, in everything from simple grammar to simple fact, this article is a classic wiki-mess. Useless, bloody useless. 70.36.137.39 (talk) 21:17, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
