Talk:Light writing

Latest comment: 6 years ago by InternetArchiveBot in topic External links modified

This is a new form of stop motion animation currently in use. For instance, it was recently seen in a national sprint ad campaign. Many examples can also be found on youtube after searching for "light writing".

removal of speedy deletion

edit

I removed the tags because this is simply not under {{db-bio}}. It's by no means an article yet. It has no cited verifiability or notability, and it could thus be challenged on those, but that just needs a little time by the creator. Fiddle Faddle 13:19, 3 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

What's the deal with citing a random post from a message board that has nothing to do with anything? (205.243.71.71 (talk) 04:31, 5 December 2007 (UTC))Reply

how to add images etc??

edit

this is a new form of art and deserves a page, please point me in the right direction to ad images/video User:Thecinematographer

Image addition is simple. You use the "Upload file" link in the left hand margin, but must be certain that yo do not upload material that is the copyright of others unless you have and can show to Wikipedia their permission.
Video is not addable. Wikipedia does not have the extension that allows embedding of video.
That something "deserves a page" is a sentiment that many people may agree with. But "deserves" and "qualifies for" are different. I believe this does qualify for a page, but, and this is important, the page must assert the notability of the topic with citations. I am placing a "placeholder" for citations on the article page. These uss a pair or tags to flag them. They work thus:
Between <ref> and </ref> you place the citation, ideally using {{Cite web}} or another citation template to expand the reference. This then goes automatically into the referecnes. The best references/citations have a short quotation from the cited source. "Short" is important otherwise copyright is breached. Look at WP:RS to understand Reliable Sources.
This is part of wikification. Other parts are to wikilink frok this article to other relevant articles, and to wikilink to this article form other relevant articles.
The {{Hangon}} message is only relevant for Speedy Deletion. Please only use it to gain a short elay when an article is nominated for that. Templates such as {{Wikify}} "just" mean "please wikify". Fiddle Faddle 06:29, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

thank you for all your help, for editing the page, and keeping me out of the "deserves" gutter and on the "qualifies" highway, is the page looking somewhat respectable? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thecinematographer (talkcontribs) 14:05, 14 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Split? Merge?

edit

So, I feel this is really about two different topics. Surveilluminescence which is really what the "Technique" section describes. Taking individual shots in a stop motion way, as opposed to "true" light writing which is a long exposure time and the light is waved around. Thoughts? If I don't hear anything, I'll just boldly split it, or better yet, have them both in this article under different headings. Drewmutt (^ᴥ^) talk 21:52, 20 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
