Redirect edit

Have you looked at Chronology of Jesus lately? There have got to be at least a half-dozen better articles to redirect "Life of Jesus" to than that one. It is a disscussion of the date (only) of just two events-- his birth and death-- and an almost trival disscussion on a 3rd event. I do not see this as being wanted by someone typing in "Life of Jesus."
If you object to Gospel harmony, can we direct this to some other page? Carlaude:Talk 04:51, 6 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
New Testament view on Jesus' life then? Johnbod (talk) 14:15, 6 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Adding religious opinions + Historicity of Jesus edit

@Johnbod: As I said: Jesus' life varies a lot depending on the religion, I do not see why those visions of his life should be removed. To put them in the 'See also' section seems to me to be a good compromise. I thinkg the Historicity of Jesus article should also be put in the 'See also' section. Veverve (talk) 19:59, 18 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

And as I said, these articles have little or nothing on his life, but his status etc. All sorts of thing will get added to anything about Jesus, and we neeed to stay focused. Johnbod (talk) 18:12, 27 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Johnbod: they do. For example, the life of Jesus according to Islam is very different from the one told in the New Testament. Veverve (talk) 18:14, 27 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Well, it's an awful lot shorter for one thing! Actually, up to the crucifixion, it can be, depending on the school, fairly similar, being based on Christian renderings. But how much would your links tell the reader about that? Johnbod (talk) 18:17, 27 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Religious perspectives on Jesus covers this and other religions. Veverve (talk) 18:18, 27 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
But not from a biographical pov. Johnbod (talk) 18:22, 27 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Jesus in Islam does, but this would mean adding all the 'Jesus in [religion]' articles. Religious perspectives on Jesus also contains a biographical section ("Despite major differences, the Quran and New Testament overlap in other aspects of Jesus' life etc."). Life of JesusLife of Jesus (disambiguation) – per WP:ASTONISH and WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. The primary topic of life of Jesus is the life of Jesus/Christ article, this is a (disambiguation) page with a few books and films on it named after the actual primary topic. Move and redirect to the expected article. In ictu oculi (talk) 14:47, 19 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose: there is no primary topic. Veverve (talk) 15:05, 19 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Please see WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, the life of Jesus article passes WP:PT on both criteria. What evidence do you have that these books or films are what readers are looking for? In ictu oculi (talk) 16:06, 19 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
I cannot speak for Veverve, but I suspect s/he has in mind the historical Jesus article. It is highly unusual to have separate "life" articles for persons. Their articles are generally presumed to cover their lives! Srnec (talk) 01:03, 20 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
