Fair use rationale for Image:LITA logo.gif

edit

Image:LITA logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Proposed edit

edit

I would like to propose an edit of this article by adding/adapting the following information and placing it into a structure that gives a more well-rounded representation of LITA:

The first two proposed categories will contain information about LITA's name and its history, followed by a third category that outlines information about LITA's Board of Directors, including a president roster and information about bylaws and guiding principles of the board. The next category will supply information about conferences like COLA, Forum, and the Midwinter Meeting and ALA National Conference. The following two categories will provide material concerning LITA membership and its committees, including a subcategory within memberships on interest groups. The seventh category will outline LITA's types of publications, and the eighth will be a short section including information on LITA's blog.

LITA Books listed in table

edit

I recommend deleting the table of books in the section Library_and_Information_Technology_Association#Books. The list is incomplete and will only grow more so. Why not rely on a WorldCat search? Perhaps the point is to offer an example of the kinds of books LITA has published? If so, perhaps we should include some items other than LITA Guides, and/or explain the different series / types of books published by LITA. Okay, there's been no talk on this so I'm going to delete the table.Sharp-shinned.hawk (talk) 01:49, 13 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
