Any support for the notion that Ershi 貳師 refers to Osh? Phonetically, that sounds like an idea motivated by Modern Mandarin rather than Han-dynasty pronunciations. Pulleyblank, "Chinese and Indo-Europeans" (1966), 26, suggested the Sogdian city of Nakhshab (modern Qarshi, in Uzbekistan), and it has long been observed that Ershi sounds like Nisaea, although geographically that wouldn't make much sense.--74.103.157.244 (talk) 14:25, 23 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
