Suit edit

How haven't Hasbro sued them!?!?!??!?!

Maybe they're not stupid and realise this game can only increase popularity of Scrabble, bringing with it increased sales of Real Life (tm) Scrabble boards. An unusual thing in the big business, but it may just be happening...
Hasbro/Mattel have started the process to shut it down as of Jan 2008 Travellingcari (talk) 21:49, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Trademark edit

The external link related to the trademark application seems to say that the application has been abandoned (as of the 12th of February). I didn't edit the page because I may have misinterpreted what I read. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.147.209.62 (talk) 14:24, 6 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

FaceBook Users edit

I've added some material on the widespread use on Facebook, but I'm not really sure what else can be added. What is there to say? Travellingcari (talk) 18:11, 21 December 2007 (UTC).Reply

Facebook are promoting an app that leads to a dangerous website, warnings should be given and no one under 18 years of age should access it. The bullying and trolling that goes on there everyday is a sight to see, the admin turn a blind eye and encourage the bullying of other members by certain members of the lex community. Concensus is slowly moving towards Lexulous being nothing more than a trolls paradise it should be flagged as a dangerous website and not suitable for under 18's.ThePieFaceInVienna (talk) 08:32, 2 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Lexulous is full of trolls, I went via facebook with my 7 year old daughter, within minutes of joining I was sent abusing private messages using the most filthiest of langueage, needless to say I no longer use the site, facebook should withdraw all recognition of this disgusting site. Agree not safe for young persons. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.51.240.52 (talk) 09:10, 7 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Clean Up edit

I've invited the editor who moved the cleanup to talk here to tell us what s/he believes should be cleaned up since there has been significant work done on the article and I'm curious as to what else they'd like to see. Travellingcari (talk) 01:17, 18 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I don't actually think this article particularly needs further cleanup, myself. The only reason I moved the template from the talk page to the article is because I believed that {{Cleanup}} is meant for article pages, not Talk pages - although on reading the template's documentation, it seems I am mistaken, and placing it on Talk pages is entirely acceptable when minor cleanup is required. In any case, since there seems to be consensus that this article doesn't need any, I'll remove the template altogether. Terraxos (talk) 01:27, 18 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for that information. I've still never quite managed to remember where some of the tags/templates go -- it's on one of my reading lists! :) I figure once the dust settles following the recent Hasbro/Mattel issues that there will be cleanup required in one direction or another but for the time being it would be minute by minute changes. Have a good evening! Travellingcari (talk) 01:43, 18 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

The website needs to clear out the gaggle of trolls who inhabit lexulous, many of whom flock there just to cause a nuisance to genuine members there, trolls who do not play the game but enjoy flaming and causing distress where it can whenever it can. Admin do nothing when complaints of made, what is happening inside Lexulous and the inaction of the administration is incredible ThePieFaceInVienna (talk) 08:36, 2 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Creation edit

In the introduction it said it was created in 2006, the creation paragraph said 2005. Since the latter was cited and I can't find any reference to a 2006 creation, I've changed the intro date. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Travellingcari (talkcontribs) 15:18, 18 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Scrabble Connection edit

I've undone 59.93.240.43 (talk)'s 2nd removal of the Scrabble connection because s/he doesn't explain why s/he's done so and I believe that the information is important otherwise why would Hasbro/Mattel be threatening legal action. I've also left a message on the talk page to discuss here because I don't want an edit war. Travellingcari (talk) 15:41, 21 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wordscraper edit

Ok, now that Scrabulous is now Wordscraper... how do we change the article? Or do we, even? I added a quick bit about the new name in the Legal Issues section. Feel free to edit at will. I wont feel bad.  ;) Qb | your 2 cents 16:21, 31 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I was trying to figure out the hierarchy of the company and products, and placed the merge templates as a result. This article appears to be documenting the website, Scrabulous, which is still operational. It would appear that one of Scrabulous' services is providing the Facebook application, and that is what has changed to Wordscraper, which is why I suggest merging that into this article. Synergy/Blades (Talk) 20:04, 4 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yes. What you said. I concur! Qb | your 2 cents 23:23, 4 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
No. Scrabulous still exists on Facebook for non North American users. I just checked. --PremKudvaTalk 04:24, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
No. Scrabulous has not become Wordscraper. Wordscraper is a separate game released on facebook in January (before Scrabulous came down for North American users). As Wordscraper is a first of kind experiment in collaborative game design I think it should have its own page. Barnaby dawson (talk) 16:47, 15 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
Scrabbulous is now at [1], and Wordscraper is something extremely different. 75.146.178.58 (talk) 20:14, 17 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Move to Lexulous? edit

Before I move the page to Lexulous I figured Id ask about it here. --Smart Mark Greene (talk) 03:42, 1 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Big change to Lexulous interface edit

As of 3rd December, 2008 the lexulous.com interface has changed, the site has posted a message saying that users may notice 'slight changes', and that there will be an explanation soon. There are now in fact 8 tiles, instead of 7, and no triple word scores in the corners, for example.

Perhaps someone could update the main site. I hesitate as I may get the usual 'vandalism' troll stuff! 78.149.147.69 (talk) 18:18, 3 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

On whether Lexulous is available or not edit

An editor whose grasp of the rules of Wikipedia seems unsure keeps claiming, with mounting frustration, that the Lexulous site is down as of mid-March. This is not true -- at least not in the U.S. where I am able to access the site and am doing so every day. But that's irrelevant. Truth is not the criterion for the inclusion of purported facts in Wikipedia entries; verifiability through citation of a secondary source is. Unless the editor can provide a link to a reputable source (e.g. news article) saying that Lexulous is down, he or she should not assert that it is down. His or her own observation is irrelevant.

It is also inappropriate to express frustration in the article itself: "For the fourth time, Lexulous is down" is not an appropriate sentence. Any such frustration should be expressed in the Talk page, here. Nightspore (talk) 11:17, 25 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Seems to be accessible from here in Scotland (UK). Of course, Nightspore is right about original research. We can't have everyone editing articles thus to report what could be very localised problems. Contains Mild Peril (talk) 03:46, 26 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Can this be right? edit

"Scrabulous users reacted by creating a group called Save Scrabulous, asking Facebook to shut down the game on its site." Surely they were asking Facebook not to shut down the game...? Equinox 21:34, 18 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

A new group of former members who have experienced bullying and harassment there whilst admin sit back and do nothing would be better to highlight the dangers that the lexulous website brings! The empowerment of the gaggle of trolls there by admin is staggering. What if a vulnerable adult of young child gets victimised? Complaints are not addressed or handled.ThePieFaceInVienna (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 08:40, 2 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
