After reading the editorial on ExWeb.com, I believe several of the claims contained on this article need to be reviewed or, at least, correctly sourced. NPOV is a serious issue here. Take for example the excessive adjectivation and use of expressions such as 'shocked the world'. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.254.233.190 (talk) 05:09, 10 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Good catch, the article has been retagged. Pinkadelica (talk) 05:28, 10 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

I am questioning the line in the introduction to Pugh's article, "He is also the only person known to science to be able to control his body temperature at will." I believe that this was taken from the latest episode (season H, episode 8) of the British quiz show, QI (if not, I apologize in advance). Can this fact be confirmed by any other source?

I think that this line may have been taken out of context. The exact quote of Stephen Fry was, "he is the only person known to science who can do what he can do. He can swim in cold conditions unlike anybody else, and he is able to raise his body temperature at will." It sounds as though the full description of what he is able to do is beyond raising his body temperature, but also being able to swim in extremely cold conditions. Within the same episode of QI, Sadhus (holy men of India) were mentioned as being able to raise their body temperature at will. I was unable to find any articles on Sadhus, but I was able to find an article in the Harvard Gazette about Tibetan monks that dried wet towels placed on their body by raising their body temperature through meditation. However, because I because this is not an actual scientific article regarding this phenomenon, I am hesitant to claim the Gazette article as a source. Maldives edit

There is a major discrepancy on the web: lots of articles about his plans to swim across the Maldives, but only a few tiny notes on his actual success with very few details: for example: http://www.wwf.org.uk/wwf_articles.cfm?unewsid=572 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.89.200.51 (talk) 02:00, 22 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Name edit

Mr. Pugh has verified the correct article name in ticket:2014012810008582, please respect that: we had it wrong, it's now right. Thanks. Guy (Help!) 15:34, 28 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
