Talk:Leslie Durrell

How come all the other members of the Durrell family deserve their own entry, including Gerald's parents Lawrence and Louisa, who were both 'private people' who's only significance was their relationship to famous sons, but brother Leslie doesn't? If I don't get a satisfactory answer to this question, I will be reinstating the 'Leslie Durrell' page and filing a complaint against anyone who subsequently deletes it.Sgouveia (talk) 19:47, 5 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

This page was deleted by consensus. If you reinstate it it will probably be deleted again. As for other members of the family, your argument is probably correct, they don't need articles either. I'll look at them on a case by case basis and if I think it appropriate put them up for deletion too. You can do that as well, if you wish. BTW you have no grounds for complaint, everything has been done in accordance with Wikipedia policies. --Michael Johnson (talk) 22:08, 5 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Margo almost certainly doesn't deserve one either, although at least there exists a posthumous book by her - a sign that she made some effort to be notable, unlike Leslie. Leslie did nothing that deserves an article, period. Look around wikipedia - articles aren't created about every sibling of famous people; that would be ridiculous. - DavidWBrooks (talk) 22:13, 5 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your considered response, Mr Johnson. I think this sounds like an appopriate course of action. I have no complaints, I just don't like heavy-handedness. Sgouveia (talk) 13:17, 6 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
