Too Many Primary Sources Cited for PRO 140, WP:PROMO and WP:PRIMARY Issues

edit

just over half of the sources cited for our article PRO140 are WP:PRIMARY sources published by the drug's manufacturer CytoDyn.

Wikipedia's been seeing a rash of pharma firms seemingly using the project as a promotional vehicle for their products. See WP:PROMO for why you shouldn't do that.

Citing clinical trial data before endpoints are met and the study data submitted to FDA carries its own issues outside of Wikipedia.

Wikipedia editors ought to be vigiliant during the Covid-19 crisis not to allow our project to be used as a publicity vehicle for those who want to promote alleged cures for the pandemic. --loupgarous (talk) 16:06, 19 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
