Corrections by HenriP
editThe article has been greatly improved by HenriP, with factual information from Leon Himself. Could Leon be persuaded to place a photograph in the public domain, to illustrate the article? Bluewave 10:05, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
Picture
editThanks to the anonymous contributor who got Leon's agreement to place the picture in the public domain! Bluewave 16:38, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Sceptical circles.png
editImage:Sceptical circles.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Songs from a Dying British Empire
editI have deleted this entry in the discography.
There is no album called that - it was a US re-issue of the album "That's Not The Way It's Got To Be", but this was merely a sub-title printed on the cover. The US album was in fact also called "That's Not The Way It's Got To Be", so no seperate entry needed. MegdalePlace (talk) 17:48, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Picture - great result! (Not)
editSomeone (I think it was HenriP) went to the trouble of getting Leon to provide a public domain picture of himself for the article. Now it's been deleted. Great result! Is it a wonder people give up trying to improve Wikipedia. Bluewave (talk) 20:08, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
- I assume it's because it wasn't authorised in the "correct" manner. The picture policy on here gets daft sometimes in my opinion. There is a way you can declare fair use for record covers - don't know how - but if someone can do that, we should be able to get a picture up that way. I think "Perspectives" has a decent image on the front. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.181.251.89 (talk) 08:15, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- [Further grumpy post from Bluewave coming up] Prior to the public domain image provided by LR himself, I had used a picture from the cover of my own copy of "Songs for Sceptical Circles" but owing to the picture policy, that was unacceptable because the album cover can only be used to illustrate the album, not the artist. Vote For Us
editI came across the above mentioned Rosselson LP on a couple of discographies, and so added it in. I then removed it. I've never heard of it, but it was reported in Billboard mag in 1964, as by Leon and Stephen Sedley. Released on the Transatlantic label. Does anyone have any info, and could they add it in to its appropriate place in the discography (ie, it may not be a solo LP). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.181.251.89 (talk) 08:11, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
Discog
editI've made a couple of tweaks to the discography. One of them is the deletion of the LP Down By The Liffeyside. Leon played guitar on two tracks - I don't think that qualifies it as part of his discography (he played guitar on several other records too, which are not listed). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.184.96.167 (talk) 22:08, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
