I think that Wikipedia needs to be aware that in the Northeast the Census Bureau considers any "township" to be unincorporated. Technically in New Jersey there are no "unincorporated" areas. Every piece of the state is incorporated. Townships are legal entities like cities, boros etc. The Census Bureau's archaic terminology is being used in a way that skews data and confuses data users.
