Hello! I will be reviewing this article. --Cerebellum (talk) 17:48, 4 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • (dropping in) Ah, just seen this. Larry seemed so exciting as a teenager, now I'm his actual age (I guess) he seems more pathetic. Anyway, wondered if it's worth mentioning in the gameplay, money can only be earned in the casino and there's a limit of $250 because its stored as an 8 bit unsigned number (whose maximum value is 255 - see the AGI specs). --Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 18:09, 4 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

OK, here are some comments:

  • Prose: The player can walk between areas that are next to each other (like the casino and the 24-hour wedding chapel and the discothèque and convenience store), but the only method of travel between areas which are not next to each other is by hailing a taxi, which costs the player money; failure to do so results in Larry being mugged or hit by oncoming traffic. I don't think we need this much detail - how about The player can walk between areas that are next to each other, but other areas can only be accessed by hailing a taxi, which costs the player money; failure to do so results in Larry being mugged or hit by oncoming traffic.
  • Development: (it was the only text adventure that was released by a company which had established its name on providing a graphical alternative to such games) - This is uncited, a bit trivial, and interrupts the flow of the article; are you okay with removing it?
  • This source (which might not be reliable) states that the two text games were released by On-Line systems before they renamed themselves Sierra On-Line and started creating graphical games. The company rename and date thereof is certainly backed up by the official site. --Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 19:29, 4 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Development: The 1991's Leisure Suit Larry 1: In the Land of the Lounge Lizards used the new game engine Sierra's Creative Interpreter and was released in 1991 for the Amiga, DOS and Macintosh platforms. I'm not sure how to fix it but this sentence is a little jacked up. Any ideas?
  • Organization: The paragraph about the remake (4th paragraph of "Development") seems a bit out of place. Could you combine that and the "Reloaded" section into a single "Sequels" section?
  • New Statesman: I couldn't access the New Statesman link.
  • References: It's not required for GA, but to improve the article further consider adding references for the remake and reloaded information.
  • Gameplay: It's a little odd that this section relies almost exclusively on one source. Do no other sources discuss the gameplay? If not, perhaps trim this down a little bit.

Good job on this! You've avoided both of the traditional pitfalls of video game articles: your sources are impeccable and your plot section is short. You've even got fair-use rationales for all your images! I made some minor copy edits and trimmed some stuff, but the prose looks good - let me know if I took out something important. My only issues were those listed above, so take a look and let me know what you think. I'm placing this article on hold for a week and then I'll take another look. The lost two comments are just suggestions for further improvement, so I'll pass the article even if you don't do anything about them. --Cerebellum (talk) 19:11, 4 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • I'll try not to stalk this GA review for too much longer (sorry!) but the "Plot" and "Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded" sections are unreferenced, and if I was feeling pointy, I could be within my rights to tag them with {{unreferenced}} and claim the article should be quickfailed. However, neither would be too difficult to source. --Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 19:29, 4 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
No worries about the stalking, I appreciate your input as I don't have too experience with adventure games and am likely to miss some things. --Cerebellum (talk) 20:00, 4 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Ritchie333: Could you hadle any grammer/tense problems with the article (if any)? Also possibly prose in general. --Niemti (talk) 13:42, 6 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Reloaded is not a sequel, it's the 2nd remake (the first remake, from 1991, is covered by this article). The sequels are covered by the article Leisure Suit Larry. --Niemti (talk) 13:47, 6 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Article looks good, I'm happy to pass as GA. --Cerebellum (talk) 09:07, 12 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
