Maintenance tags removed edit
I have removed the multiple issues, cleanup and footnotes tags after reworking the main Life and Career section into proper paragraph style, according to WP:MOSLAYOUT.
I have added a significant number of in-line citations & references, but I am still concerned about the degree of uncited primary statements (eg "The book is a popular title in Musee du Louvre", and "his books ... could be seen as gently subversive") which are sprinkled throughout the article.
Perhaps someone more familiar with articles about literary figures could comment about whether these statements should be removed?
