Quick fail. I'm sorry, but this article does not meet the requirements for a good article. Very large portions of it are unsourced and the article seems considerably too short for such an important and complicated subject. The content is far too cursory and needs to be expanded more. Several things that should be linked are not. There is nothing which introduces the reader to how the legionary came into existence. While the decline of the legionary is discussed, albeit in a very general style, there is nothing examining how it officially collapsed. This article needs serious work before it can qualify for good article status, not just the few quick edits that the nominator did.
