Episode titles edit

The titles for episodes 1 ("The Journey Begins") and 3 ("Superman's Quest") were removed by someone whose only posting was that. My source for those episode titles was http://tviv.org/Legion_of_Super-Heroes/Season_One, which was the first (and to date, only) place I've seen them. This poster must have some information I don't about these specific titles, but unless I find out, I'll add them back. Wizardimps 06:48, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Renaming the show (and this article) edit

Despite what it says at the Newsarama interview [1], there's been no official word at the show's renaming from "Legion of Super-Heroes" to "Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes". The interviewer on that page has been wrong in print at least twice before about the title, calling it "Supergirl and the Legion of Super-Heroes" even after concept art had come out and after it was known that it would be Superboy instead. The interviewer did not say that the producers told him the series has been renamed, that was commentary of his own at the beginning of the article. I don't support the renaming of this Wikipedia page. wizardimps 00:39, 26 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

As the name change is not official, I have a real problem with renaming this article (especially without discussion) and would like to voice my opposition in the strongest possible terms. --Mhking 01:03, 26 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Universe placement? edit

With the end of JLU, it sounds like the Timmverse has ended, so where is this placed? 'The Batman', or 'Teen Titans'? I'm not sure what to think. It looks more like a TT animation style but they ended and everything to the JL is conformed to the Batman now. Another thing... why is Superboy called Superman in this? Tyciol 10:55, 30 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

First question, where is this placed? Apparently in its own universe (for now) - there are no plans to tie it into any other DC animated properties directly. Series producer James Tucker was asked in an interview at San Diego if these Legionnaires are the same ones as in the Timmverse shows (and thus, is there any connection between JLU and STAS and this one). He said that "The characters in this version of Legion will be less experienced than those seen before now in the DCAU. Whether these characters will evolve into those characters is yet to be determined. I'll leave that to the message boards and fan fic writers." [2]
Second question, why is he Superman and not Superboy? It's a copyright issue. The heirs of Jerry Siegel were given the copyright to the Superboy character in 2004 and DC/Time Warner disagrees with the scope of the ruling. So to avoid the Superboy connection, they renamed him Superman and said he comes to the future from right before he moved to Metropolis (as opposed to highlighting him being from Smallville). See the Superboy#Legal_status Wikipedia page or this FAQ [3]. --wizardimps 05:13, 3 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
Can we add a small note about this on the main article page, linking it to the Superboy Legal status page?149.68.165.134 14:52, 6 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
There already is a reference, in the last paragraph on the main page right before the Table of Contents. It's the link for "current legal issues". -- Wizardimps 03:45, 20 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Besides, it's largely irrelavent to the series. They can rerecord and use hokey writing all they want. Not a big deal, really. The average reader might not even know Superboy and just be like "Oh. Nods to non-Legion continuity edit

Anyone else think they were implying Alexis might be a descendent of Lex Luthor? Gladrius 13:45, 9 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Uh...I think you're talking about the wrong section, dude. You meen the "villains" subsection listing Alexis' last name as "Luthor"? The implication is obvious, but there's nothing beyond that in the article. I'm better sure her last name was given in the ep and "Luthor" makes sense. Maybe you're thinking of an older version of the article. BTW, now comments at the very bottom. ACS (Wikipedian); Talk to the Ace. See what I've edited. 16:33, 9 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Except for the name on her prison uniform in future writing (and that's inside reference stuff) her full name is not given, not even in the credits. It just says "Tara Strong as Alexis." And yes, the implication is obvious, if you're familiar with old school DC Comics. I figured if we're counting Booster Gold as non-Legion continuity, then I thought Lex Luthor would be too, even though both are fixtures of DC history, comics and animated, since the show doens't come right out and say "This is Lex Luthor's great-great-great granddaughter". Gladrius 09:57, 11 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

And technically, Booster is a part of Legion continuity in the comics, if an obscure one Gladrius 10:08, 11 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Bouncing Boy = everyman = Spock??? edit

Okay, Ace Class Shadow, why the heck do you think that Tucker fellow meant to say Spock instead of McCoy when talking about Bouncing Boy? That sounds more like opinion than fact, plus I don't agree that Spock was any sort of "everyman." --Joe Sewell 17:29, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Oh, I see now. Tucker's comment compared "Bones" to "McCoy," forgetting that they're the same person. You were referring to Brainiac 5 being analogous to Spock. Sorry for the misunderstanding. --Joe Sewell 17:33, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Tyr edit

Ace: Tyr may be a Norse war god, but he's also a Legion villain with a long history, dating back to the mid-1970's. He has been both a solo villain and a member of the Legion of Super-Villains, so it's not out of the question that he might appear. We just haven't heard of anything official yet. -- Wizardimps 02:03, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

The link added was simply "Tyr". That alone is indenfensible. Further, you're coming to the talk page and directly admitting you're adding him speculatively. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 04:30, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, bit of confusion, I wasn't clear. I was not the one who put Tyr there, my comment was more directed at you for dismissing the Norse war god rather than the Legion villain. You'll notice I did not add it back in there because as you said, it doesn't belong (and if you hadn't deleted it before I got there, I would have). -- Wizardimps 06:19, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Recurring protagonists? edit

It seems odd to have character sections describing core and other Legionnaires, but no section on recurring Legionnaires listed above (currently Cosmic Boy and Triplicate Girl). Mongoose22 04:49, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, the core Legionnaires appear in nearly every episode, while the others don't. Triplicate Girl has only shown up once, and Cosmic Boy won't appear until the last three episodes of the season. That doesn't give room in the episodes for the kind of character development and descriptions as shown in this article.
And for what it's worth, when I put that section in, it was only a quote from series producer James Tucker about the character, given in an interview. Others rewrote that section to paraphrase him and expand the information into what it is now. But feel free to add a paragraph or two about Cosmic Boy and/or Triplicate Girl. -- Wizardimps 06:25, 19 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's Superboy. edit

I've watched the show, and i've read the old comics, the charecter with the cape is Superboy, not superman, regardless of what they call him. This was clearly changed because of the court rulling. The source material for this show is undoubtedly the old Superboy & the Legion Stories. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 151.205.96.43 (talk) 00:11, 22 January 2007 (UTC).Reply

Potential Legionnaire Romances edit

The "Lightning Storm" episode seemed to contain hints of the traditional Saturn Girl/Lightning Lad attraction starting up...and there was definitely a strong hint that Bouncing Boy has his classic romantic feelings towards Triplicate Girl.

If they develop these potential romances further, should such info be added to the character blurbs?

If they do. Puffy Treat 02:15, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Triplicate Girl edit

Why isn't Triplicate in the article? She is a reacurring character.

Legolad3451 17:38, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Legolad3451Reply

She's not one of the main characters who appears in many or most episodes (Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl, Brainiac 5, Bouncing Boy, Timber Wolf, Phantom Girl, and Superman). Triplicate Girl has appeared in two episodes so far. -- Wizardimps 04:22, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
So, why did they put her in Lightning Storm? Huh. Anyway, thanks.
Legolad3451 15:09, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Legolad3451Reply
What, they're not allowed to use a Legionnaire more than once in a season? She's not a "main" character, as developed by the producers. Only the seven who are in the promotional material are. -- Wizardimps 22:27, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
I disagree - she is shown in the opening title animation, and has appeared as a critical character in 2 episodes, and a minor character in at least two others. That actually gives her MORE appearances than Timberwolf. I would say that the fact that she is in the opening title animation, along with the other seven (and people like Cosmic Boy, Matter-Eater Lad, etc are not) would make her qualified. I'm adding her in. --Snicker|¥°| 18:47, 29 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
The reason that she's in the opening animation is because she was in the first episode. All of the scenes from the opening are from the first episode. The section you added the info to was originally just series producer James Tucker describing each of the main Legionnaire characters (which has grown considerably due to "feature creep"). I'm just noting that the series producer didn't discuss her as one of the main characters, and she wasn't in any of the promotional material as a main character. -- Wizardimps 13:48, 30 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Actually, he DID mention her in the referenced article. Go read it again. He may have said "to a lesser degree" but believe me, if they didn't want Triplicate Girl considered a "core member", they wouldn't have gone to the trouble to create unique animations for the opening sequence. Anyway, although the feature creep you mentioned has obliterated the original sense of the text, the fact that it still remains factual and represents useful and valuable information in the scope of the article makes it a valid entry. Thanks for making me go read that article, btw. Good stuff. --Snicker|¥°| 19:54, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Has Ultra Boy joined? edit

We finally see in full "Ultra Boy" costume this episode, and he seems to have hung around after Ferro Lad's sacrifice.

Should he be added to the roster?

Puffy Treat 15:03, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

"Hung around" does not imply that he joined. He's got some friends in the Legion, he's trying to hit on Phantom Girl, why not hang around?

Is The Batman and Legion of Super Heroes in the same Community? Because it is the same animation in both shows. --67.170.207.109 04:11, 1 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

It sure as hell doesn't appear to be due to the contrasting characteristics exhibited by their supermen. Legion's Superman is nicer and willing to work with a team. Merge Legion of Super Heroes in the 31st Century into Legion of Super Heroes (TV series) (2019) edit

I suggest that Legion of Super Heroes in the 31st Century merge into Legion of Super Heroes (TV series). "Legion of Super Heroes in the 31st Century" is the comic book companion adaptation to the TV show at "Legion of Super Heroes (TV series)", and is completely unreferenced, without an issue list, to a cartoon TV show from a decade ago.
