Death

If Leela stayed on Gallifrey , that means Rose Tyler won't be the first assistant to die. Leela died in the Time War, when Gallifey was destroyed. Maybe this should be mentioned in the article? Digifiend 08:50, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Well, first of all, even if Leela died during the Time War, she wouldn't be the first companion to die: that dubious honour belongs to Katarina. Secondly, there's a lot of "ifs" - if she was in Gallifrey, if she was involved in the Time War... for all we know, she may not have been on Gallifrey, or that she had died before that of old age (pesky time travel). And really, if we want to talk about companions dying after the leave the Doctor, surely Jamie died a long time ago. --khaosworks (talk • contribs) 10:39, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Adric, a Companion of the 4th and 5th Doctor, was killed during a Doctor Who episode when he tried to keep an asteroid from slamming into the Earth. It was the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs; needless to say...he failed. Primitive

Do we have to describe Leela as primitive? She was a member of a tribe/family that fought to survive every day on the planet they lived on. We don't tend to go around describing the Native American Indians at the time of British/US colonisation, or the Australian Aboriginals at the time of British colonisation primitive any more (it's offensive, loaded and untrue), why are we using this word to describe Leela? Yes she didn't have the privilege of a Western education, but her education on her planet and her environment, as well as the rules for living in her tribe, were exactly what she needed to survive. Better image needed

Did Fandom copy Wikipedia or vice-versa?

Arc of Infinity return?

I've removed the following from the page, after the mention of Jameson declining to return for Tom Baker's regeneration: "Leela was therefore written into Arc of Infinity, but Jameson proved unavailable for the role, so some of her parts of the story were assigned instead to Nyssa". This is not mentioned in the attributed source ([2]), and with Arc having now been blu-ray released with no mention of this it seems very dubious. Of course, if anyone does have a source feel free to add it back with proper attribution. U-Mos (talk) 14:06, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
